Steph is in the sunny loungeroom of the Cooper farmhouse, bent over a notebook. The sewing machine is set up beside her and there's a bag of rather eggplant-coloured cloth at her feet, but she's still in the planning stage, lost in her scribbles.

"Oh, wow. That sounds awesome!" Steph returns the hug happily. She nods to Angie's question, grinning.

"I'm just thinking about making one now."

"Cool. I'm assuming it's for real and not just for Halloween."

Because Steph just doesn't do that stuff for pretend.

Steph grins, leaning back on the couch and shuffling over so there's room for Angie too.

"Yeah, I've been having this, I dunno, you can't have a midlife crisis when you're eighteen, can you? But I think it'd be good to get back to normal, clear my head a bit."

And normal, for Steph, is rooftop-running in a mask and cape.

... what, that's totally normal.

"It's a strange sort of normal, but I see what you mean."

She grins. Life isn't ever going to be any semblance of what it was before for her. But it's not bad at all.

"I can totally understand wanting to be back to normal. Sort of why I write all those how-to thingies. At least it's some sort of writing and it'll help people out."

Someday, anyway.

Steph grins. "It does help, promise. It's super good."

"I certainly hope so. The only disadvantage to living off the Farm is that it's harder to know what people here need."

"Betcha that's not a big enough disadvantage to make you come back," Steph says, grinning at her friend. "Seriously, your place sounds so damn perfect. I'm totally inviting myself over someday soon. As soon as I can tear myself away from here."

Angela pretends to think about it. "Deeefinitely not," she says, laughing. "It's just so peaceful. And private. And you should come over. I'd like to have friends visit."

Steph beams at her. "It's kind of weird and also kind of cool having a friend that knows you way better than you know them. No wonder the second Claire used to give me funny looks."

She grins. "Well, at least I know that color is not purple," she says, pointing at the bag of fabric. "It's eggplant."

She remembers that was always a bone of contention.

"That," Steph agrees solemnly, "is why I love you."

Angela beams at her. "And you're totally cool for using an awesome color like eggplant for your suit."

Steph giggles. "You should totally be a superhero too. You've got all the right ideas."

She grins. "Well, I don't know if I could possibly be as awesome as you. Unless you need a sidekick with the power of klutziness."

This is not entirely true, of course. She's a brown belt in karate, it's not like she couldn't take out a few bad guys.

Steph grins. "How about a sidekick with the power of being glamorous and distracting? You dazzle them, I'll kick them in the teeth."

Angela laughed. "And then I could kick the last one in the teeth. Because they should know beauty is dangerous."

Steph beams. "Damn right. I should have you along all the time."

Angela grins. "What would they call me? What's a good sidekick name?"

"Hmm." Steph regards her friend, thoughtfully.

"Glamazon?"

Angela stares at her for a moment before dissolving into helpless laughter.

"And that is why I love you," she says, trying to catch her breath.

Steph gives her a thumbs-up, still giggling herself, just at Angela's reaction.

"Okaaay. Hmm. We could call you ... Asskicking Chick? I dunno, Angie, I only picked a name because of my father."

"You could call me Cover Girl, then." She grinned. "Cos I'll totally be covering your ass."

Steph giggles. ":I like it! And then there's the really important question - what about an outfit?"

"It would have to be something that goes with eggplant," she said firmly. "Coordination would be important."

"Oh definitely," Steph agrees, giggling. "And something protective. So that you can ass-kick in safety."

"But stylishly protective."
