Jack has found books!

OK, so the pirate probably looks a bit weird, leaning back in a chair, his boots crossed on a table as he soaks up Homer's Odyssey and muches on an apple.Bt there he is.

And he's reading the Greek and the English as the pages come up, all very interested in the fact the two languages exist.

"I'm that obvious?"

She's cheerful about it.

Her sexuality is something Iris Valentine has never tried to hide.

"It's refreshing," Jack admits.

"On my world, people feel it a thing to bring shame."

"Oh, people feel that way on my world too," Iris admits. "I ignore 'em."

Jack snorts in approval.

"An attitude I can support with all my being," he decides.

"Good to know!"

Jack smiles at her thoughtfully, then offers a hand through the window.

"Jack Hollins is me."

"Iris Valentine," she replies as she shakes his hand, and it's not the name she was born with but it's as much hers now as anything. Jack should be able to relate.

Oh he does.

"Honoured to meet you," he says, meaningfully.

"Conversation is superior to reading at any time."

"Yeah, can say that again," agrees Iris, who's never been particularly much of a reader.

"What do you usually do to relieve boredom?"

It can't possibly be flirting. He knows she's gay.

"And how would you usually relieve boredom?"

"Drums?" Jack repeats. "I love music. Have you them here?"

"Nah."

Iris sadfaces. She misses her drums!

"Couldn't find any."

Jack sadfaces too.

But then perks up.

"We shall have to improvise!"

Oh, Iris likes her some improvising, she does.

"Like how?"

"Like leather or skin over barrels," Jack offers. "Like pots. Like anything that makes a sound when you hit itin the right way, and that you like the sound of."

"...Hmm," says Iris thoughtfully.

"We could, at that."

"Then maybe someone can find something with strings," Jack suggests. "I'm a pipe man, myself."

"Shay's got a guitar," she offers. "Or so I hear."

"You play together?"

"Yeah." Iris nods.

"Then we do need drums for you," Jack declares. "One of you sings?"

"Shay."

"Coure he does," Jack says, and adds, "we'll find you drums."
