It's not been as long as you think, honestly!

Toph's been crouching at the edge of Lake Michigan, apparently pensive and not doing much, excpet suddenly, in the middle of the morning:

From her high ground, Mel watches the reunion. Until Hana wriggles and she sets the girls down, crouching next to them.

Loo finds Mom's hand and wraps it around herself into a cuddle, while her sister crawls forward, distracted by the drying flowers.

Lost in her own thoughts, she doesn't spare any to the itch in her too-dry eyes.

Steph is hanging back, grinning at the hugging three. It's not her reunion to join. Besides, she's busy being impossibly relieved that Sokka's alive and not, you know, a crispy dry shell. She's going to have to smack him later, for running straight into the danger without her. But right now she's just too glad he's OK.

Oh, and it's good that Katara's alive too, yeah.

Suki's been bouncing up and down gleefully since the results of the resurrection were unveiled. She's itching to join the celebrations, but she stays with Mel and the girls.

...Until it becomes clear that they're content here for now, and aren't going down to join the others just yet.

Suki bolts back to the shoreline.

"It worked!" she exclaims when she arrives on the scene, beaming from ear-to-ear. She doesn't leap into the hugfest, but she's closer than Steph if anyone should want to include her. This whole thing was sort of her idea, after all.

"Welcome back, Katara."

Katara beams at her too, stretching out one arm around Sokka to pull Suki into the hug too. "I knew it would work," she says blissfully, pulling both girls close, which means Sokka gets wrapped up in between Suki and Toph too. "I'm so glad to be alive!"

Any other man in the world would be lucky to be squished between three pretty girls. Sokka? If it were any other situation, he'd be pulling away.

But it's Katara.

His arms stay around her and he lets the others get as close as they want. As the tallest, he at least gets his chin on his sister's hair. He's entirely too grateful to worry about the technicalities of anything right now.
