Last night was...

...last night was just what Mel needed to work out some of her issues right now :-D?

Since coming back, she's been doing rounds of the farm with a determined eye, making lists of things that need doing, doing some of the more urgent things; maybe she's spoken to you about what you need to do, but it's possible she hasn't yet caught upon all the gossip.

Now, as Hana and Loo play together in the grass, she's sitting and staring comtemplatively at a car that once flew. Funny how, even though one may have a genius mechanic for a brother and live with still more, there are some things for which help still cannot be asked for.

Mel wants to make it work again, and she's not sure where to start.

Steph grins. "I kind of love that feeling," she admits happily. "Only you're even littler than me and that guy's even taller than Socks, so it'd be even more. Weird. But awesome."

She decides she approves of Mel and Dean. If it makes Mel grinny, anyway.

Mel likes being grinny, too.

And she's never had a girlfriend to talk about this stuff with before!

"Just have to let him know I'm not breakable for my size. He figured it out after a while."

"Oh man, I know, right? I mean, even normal girls aren't breakable, but it's like that never even occurs to them until you hit them a couple times!"

Girlfriends are best evs. ♥

"Sokka didn't need much training." Smirky.

"Must be all the practice he has with sisters," Mel agrees, just as smirky.

Steph nods solemnly. "You trained him well," she agrees, and then goes back to being giggly, stretching her legs out and wiggling her toes in the grass. "So is Dean coming back through, d'you think?"

Mel shrugs.

"If he don't want more after that, he's spun."

"Awesome," Steph says happily. "So ... best bit?"

Mel clears her throat. It was all good.

"Probably the moment just before I almost cracked one of his ribs."

Steph is totally not laughing at her. Well, maybe a little bit. "You totally broke him," she says, shaking a finger. "Bad Mel!"

"...sounds fun, though." Slightly wistful.

Wistful gets a suspicious look.

"You're not doing it much?"

SOKKA APPRECIATES THAT.

He nods and looks over at the twins, smiling as he watches them play. It's not that he's unhappy to have Katara back, it's just...

He already has a sister. He left her behind in Apocalyptica. This girl, this sister, she just-- doesn't feel like his. He barely remembers the sweet, hopeful, optimistic girl without that flash of not right behind her eyes.

It feels like he's stealing something he doesn't deserve, that he already lost. It's not a good feeling.

His other sister pulls herself onto her feet, crouching to rest a chin on his shoulder and watch her daughters.

Family's the most important thing in the world.

"Give it time."

"We do heaps," Steph says, grinning widely. She's Just. That. Pleased. "But we haven't actually had sex yet. Can't find contraception, and, you know. I have issues."

Also it's a bigger deal for Sokka than it is for her. Also also, he is allergic to latex. Which she may or may not tell Mel, because, ammunition.

"Still pretty damn awesome."

"You do?"

Mel is giving Steph a suspicious look. Mostly borne from the fact that Mel has never ever not done sex. She bypassed all that teenage experimentation phase. It's a concerned look.

"You're OK, though?"

No sex? Seriously?

Sokka nods, still smiling. This Katara, she... she's like the last one in that she doesn't seem to want or need him much. So long as he's alive and around for poking, she seems pretty happy with that.

That's enough, he thinks. He's got four other girls - two nieces, a sister, and a girlfriend - that need him to do more than just keep breathing.

That's enough.

Seriously. Steph grins, shrugging. "It'll be super extra good when we do," she says confidently. "Sokka does these amazing things with his hands. And his mouth. Mmmmmmm."

And there's totally lots of snuggling and sex, it's just not the kind of sex that makes babies, and SHE IS TOTALLY NOT DEFENSIVE ABOUT THIS just shifting a bit and wrinkling her nose.

"We're more than fine. Just ... waiting."

Mel's going to leave it at that, then. She needs him to be her brother, and to be the girls' uncle, and - well, she needs him. It's good that this has been done, but that's it. As far as Mel's concerned, it's done now.

"So, I wanna get the car up and flying again."

"OK."

MORE SUSPICION.

Except: "Oh god, Dean's mouth."

"Not as good as Sokka's," Steph says firmly, grinning blissfully. "You cannot possibly change my mind on that."

Mel shakes her head.

"Anything's better than sex that involves my brother."

Steph's laughter turns slightly wicked.

"Oh yeah? You look kind of horrified, Mel. Do you need some details?"

SHE HAS LOTS OF DETAILS.

Hey, Mel can play this game.

"Try and find something I didn't do on the couch or in the public shower this morning."

"The public shower? I hope you rinsed it down after," Steph says sternly.

"...we always do."

"Course we did," Mel says.

"...hey, who's is that big blue towel?"

Steph siiiiiighs. "That'll teach me to leave anything in the bathroom," she laments. "Ah, it needed a wash anyway."
