Last night was...

...last night was just what Mel needed to work out some of her issues right now :-D?

Since coming back, she's been doing rounds of the farm with a determined eye, making lists of things that need doing, doing some of the more urgent things; maybe she's spoken to you about what you need to do, but it's possible she hasn't yet caught upon all the gossip.

Now, as Hana and Loo play together in the grass, she's sitting and staring comtemplatively at a car that once flew. Funny how, even though one may have a genius mechanic for a brother and live with still more, there are some things for which help still cannot be asked for.

Mel wants to make it work again, and she's not sure where to start.

"Then we can't see his face," Mel points out.

THIS IS THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THIS PLAN.

"Oh, yeah."

... :D "I bet I could plant one on Dean. Actually, you know, I bet you could." Eyebrow wiggle!

Smirk.

"Then we'd miss his face. One each?"

"You got a deal." Steph grins, wriggling her toes. "That means I get to go plant one really soon."

YAY!

"I'm still thinking hats is the way to go," Mel decides. "They'd notice a cam in their hair."

"Yeah." Steph looks thoughtful. "Do you think a pink cowgirl hat? For Socks?"

Mel looks doubtful.

"Com'on. You want Dean to take the talk seriously, right?"

Steph considers this. "Nnnooo, I just want to make Sokka laugh. And you. And maybe even the girls!"

"But I was hoping to laugh at Sokka..."

"Oh, we can do that too," Steph promises her happily. "It's just more fun when he's laughing too."

She likes making people smile. Especially if they're sadgrumpysokkapeople, but sadgrumpymelpeople too!

Mel considers this.

"No. More fun when he's trying not to laugh."

Steph thinks. "...nah, better when he's actually laughing. 'Cause then he's too busy to catch me, so I don't get tickled, and --"

"--uh, not that I'm ticklish. 'Cause I'm a superhero. And superheros aren't."

Mel doesn't answer.

She's giving Steph a thoughtful look.

Steph looks over at the girls. "Oh look, they're playing!"

"They do that," Mel agrees.

She shifts in her seat, a little closer to Steph.

"Like playing-y children," Steph says, shifting warily a little further away, eyes wide. "Because they're ... playing."

"They are children, so you'd expect it."

Shuuuuffle.

Sliiiiiiiiiide.

"Uh-huh." Steph is SO WARY. "Meeeee-el. You've got that Look in your eeeyes>"

After a moment's thought, Mel pokes Steph lightly in the side.

"I am totally telling Sokka on you!"

Mel isn't satisfied with this reaction.

She tries again.

Steph tries valiantly not to squeak, edging away even further. "I'm not ticklish," she lies through gritted teeth.

LOOK HOW STRONG SHE'S BEING augh augh stoppit Mel.

"So this is all jake, then?"

Mel is sure Sokka would approve of this.

"EEEEEK! Mel, noooo!"

There is no further to squirm without Hana and Loo getting crushed. Steph squeaks and flails instead, shoving at the stronger woman. "I'm not ticklish I'm not I'm not I'm not!"

Mel stops suddenly, drawing back a little.

"OK."

SHE WILL REMEMBER THIS.
