There's a pond! Or a little bit of sea, anyway. It's weird.

Though perhaps not as weird as the big earth bunker. Claire met the girl who made the big earth bunker. There was sarcasm, and lots of suspicious question. Claire doesn't think she's liked much in that quarter.

But now she's nowhere near the big earth bunker nor the house with Sylar-who-will-be in it, and out by the pond, sitting near the edge as she re-reads her book on Evolution.

Mr Muggles is crouching at the edge of the pond, occasionally barking at it.

"Really?" Claire asks skeptically.

YAY.

"You don'thave to. This place has a lot going for it."

PLEASE COME, SOKKA.

So does Claire.

"Yeah, but it's boring," Sokka says, grinning at her. "Toph'll love it, I bet. And maybe we'll find my sister, that crazy Firebender thinks she's around!"

ROAD TRIP!

"Your sister?"

See, now Claire has a mission! "Then we should go looking!"

"Yes!" Sokka is delighted with this response. "Yes, we should! She's got to be somewhere. I think the Firebender thinks she's in the city, do you want to go there first?"

Claire spreads her hands in a why not? gesture, smiling at his enthusiasm.

"Sure."

ROAD TRIP EEEEEEEE.

"Oh, sweet. Let me grab Toph, when do you want to go?"

Claire glances around the place and shrugs. "Give me a bit. I want to find, uh, the red girl, and tell her."

Apart from that, Claire doesn't have many friends here.

"Ooh, can we take her too? She'd love a trip." Sokka grins at Claire, already planning excitedly.

(He likes schedules.)

"Do you know how to drive one of those metal wheely things? Can we take one?"

PLEASE CAN THEY TAKE ONE, PLEASE, OH GOD PLEASE

"A car? Of course I do. I'll teach you how to drive it as well, if you want."

Claire smirks proudly. She gets to show off, yay!

"I'll ask her. See if she wants to come."

Sokka SQUEALS.

It is not very manly. But he's only fifteen.

"Claire, I grovel at your feet," he informs her, and does so. "OH GREAT CLAIRE."

She's going to teach him to DRIVE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Claire raises her eyebrows at him, blushing only a little.

"OK, that's sort of lame," she informs him.

"CARS," Sokka says happily, bouncing to his feet. "I'm going to DRIVE!"

"We have to find a car first," Claire informs him.

"There's like a million in New York. I bet the guy who got the boat would get us one."

"Shay?" Claire says, and nods. "Yeah, probably, if we ask him nicely enough."

Sokka looks like he's about to catch Claire's hands up and burst into song, and possibly sprout flowers and butterflies, he's so happy with this development of affairs.

EEE CAR! And eee sister, and eee travelling again with a pretty girl who smiles at him, but MOSTLY EEEE CAR.

Claire, it has to be admitted, is a little tiny bit freaked out by the happiness, but she smirks anyway.

It's nice to know she has the power to make someone smile like that.

"I'll go find him, then?"

"And the red girl," Sokka says, beaming. "And I'll find Toph and I'll go into town and get supplies and stuff, and we can go right away, we don't need to hang around for another meal with those two guys or anything." BEAM.

Amused smirk.

"It's really sweet of you to come with me, thanks."

"It'll be fun," he says, dismissing her thanks. "Okay, supplies time!"

VAMOOSH. Cloud of smoke. Doesn't Claire wish she was a 2D cartoon?
