It's been a number of days since Johriel and Jono first encountered that invisible monster.

She wasn't afraid of it then and she's not now.

However.

(That creature is beginning to irritate me,) she informs Jono with characteristic haughtiness. (Must we keep fleeing every time it starts up its racket?)

It's raining, a little less than a mile away.

...oh, what the heck. They don't do giggles either, and he's already managed to elicit those.

(Doin should note that Johriel is considerably smoother than a person has any right to be. Also not as squishy. It's a little like hugging a moving statue, in fact, though she's at least more pliant than stone.)
