Sokka is contemplating the road to Smallville. Town! People! And more importantly ... SHOPPING!

But he's not sure they'd accept Fire Nation money here, and that's all he has.

Plus ... Sokka's basically a lazy person. And it's a long way to walk.

There's SRS THINKY going on here, as he stands out the front of the farmhouse with hands in pockets.

Sokka likes shopping.

"Getting ready for our road trip!"

"What road trip?"

Toph folds her arms. She's not getting told stuff!

"We're going to find Katara!" Sokka tells her happily. "In a CAR!"

"Katara, really?"

Toph perks up at that. "That's great! When do we leave?"

"Claire's finding a car," Sokka says, beaming at Toph. "And maybe that red girl will come too. It'll be great!"

"Oh," says Toph. "Claire."

Then after a significant heavy pause, she admits, "I like her."

Bah.

"Me too," Sokka says happily. "She's gonna teach me to drive a car!"

And, you know, she's really pretty.

"Hey, do you think they do cars with metal wheels?" Toph says. "Then I'd be able to feel where we were going."

"I bet they could. If you asked really nicely." Sokka thinks about this. "Maybe you should just make some metal wheels!"

Toph's god, but she's not that good.

But she could probably make rock wheels!

"Maybe I will, Sokka. Maybe I will."

Sokka grins. "I'm glad we're getting outta here," he confides. "There's a kraken in the pond out the back. And it's boring."

"What's a kraken?"

"Like a squidcrab, only..."

Toph has probably never seen a squidcrab in her life.

BECAUSE SHE'S BLIND.

"... it's squishy, and it nearly killed the other me, in New York. With tentacles."

"And it's here?"

Toph turns suddenly towards the pond. She'll fill it in, that mean Sokka-killing monster thing.

"No, the one here's just a baby one."

And it was very cute! Sokka catches Toph's arm.

"Don't hurt it!"

"But it could grow up to be a mean killing thing," Toph objects.

"Plus, I bet there's good eating on it."

"Oooh."

Appeals to Sokka's stomach are always a good move.

"...ooooh."

"When was the last time we had fresh meat, anyway?"

Toph disapproves of the hunting around here!

"In New York," Sokka says wistfully, turning to regard the pool thoughtfully.

"Do you think anyone would notice if we ate it?"

Toph gives this some thought.

"Well, how did it get there?"

"I'm not sure." Sokka pats his knife thoughtfully.

"I guess someone made it a pool. Cos that wasn't there two days ago."

"No, it wasn't." Toph agrees. "Someone dug it."

"So someone cares about it," Sokka surmises.

"Damn."

"Yeah," Toph agrees, deflating. "GUess we'll just have to find something else to eat."

"Maybe there's meat outside in this city place!"
