Maria took Steph and Sokka and Jim all back to Kansas in a blink, after a long argument in which Mel promised at least five times that no one would die, leaving the four Fray girls to get the flying car back on their own. Or, as only one of them actually has a license, Erin to get the car back while Mel sits with her arms full of babies, looking decidedly comfortable.

"So, you're gonna want to hear the story now, aren't you?"

Erin debated how much she should mention about Urkonn before just deciding to let the matter rest. Mel didn't need to know about what happened with Loo... the original Loo at the moment.

"No... I think I would have noticed another big red guy in Haddyn," Erin replied. "You only see so many of those leaping around on rooftops."

"And where is this Zuko guy now?" Erin asked. "Because I think anyone trying to leave you would have ended up with a few broken bones."

Erin did know that smile. However her role as a comfort-type person? Yeah. Not so much.

"Coming from my own limited experience, this reality-hopping thing sounds like a real bitch at times," Erin said. "Any way you might find a portal back? Or to a way to open a portal back to here?"

[identity profile] officer-fray.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. From what I've gathered it didn't sound that great of a place," Erin said as she flew over some wreckage. "Though this place seems to have seen some of it's own tragedy."

"I guess," Erin said with a shrug. "Any idea what happened here? Or why portals keep popping up and dragging people through?"

[identity profile] officer-fray.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"So a portal could open up at any moment and we'll be attacked by... anything? At any time?" Erin asked looking all business.

"If Broder were here right now he'd be freaking out that you just did that," Erin said with a small smirk. "Hopefully whatever happened to him he ended up okay. He disappeared from the car when I popped into Gotham."

"About a mile up," Erin said in a flat voice. "So... yeah."

She shifted slightly in her seat and decided a change of topic was probably best. "So this Kansas place... Anything special about it other than being safe?"

"That be the one not wearing clothes? Or the perky one?" Erin asked.

"Well you somehow managed to find each other," Mel replied. "Was that Sokka guy with you? Or was he stranded somewhere else as well?"

Erin turned and gave her sister an amused look.

"Mel? Back home I saw you... Well okay another you... rip through a mob of lurks with a giant battle axe and then take out a giant... dragon-thing by slicing through its head," Erin replied. "Also I just popped into a new world where there are monsters, a new version of you that has babies that belch smoke and a girl who can teleport anywhere she wants."

"Trust me... a dream telling you where to go to find your kids? So not spun-worthy at this point. I however keep wondering if I'm going to wake up in some ward back in Haddyn."

Erin let out a snort of laughter but quickly reigned it in. "Sorry. Totally wasn't expecting that. I also didn't mean to say it wasn't a crazy experience. The dream I mean. I would have thought that the whole dimension jumping thing would make you prepared for anything."

"Not sure I have a choice in the matter," Erin admitted. "Though I have to admit seeing you with two kids kind of makes things... interesting. It's a side of you I never expected to see."
