Aang takes a step backwards as a huge smile spreads across his face. Is he seeing this right? The box infront of him is about the size of a market stall, painted red and blue and has the words 'WHAK - A - MOLE' emblazoned across the front. Nine holes cover the top and a hammer lies on the floor next to it.
The airbenders in the northern temple used to send currents of air through the walls to flush out the rat moles that hid there. Then they'd catch them. Could this game be similar? Aang builds up a ball of air, floats it up, the slams it forward into the rectangular slot on the front. A lot of things happen at once.
Nine brightly coloured moles shoot out of the top, smashing into the lights and bouncing off the ceiling. Aang propels himself after them, trying to catch as many as he can. In the chaos he doesn't notice the explosion of shiny, metal coins that pour out of the back on the machine.

At the entrance to the Arcade, she leans casually on the doorframe, not bothering to hide a huge grin at watching a kid having fun.

'Hi. I'm Aang and I'm the Avatar,' he smiles, offering a hand.
no subject
"Hi, Aang," she says, taking his hand in hers - she's in uniform, of course, and so his palm meets black leather gloves.
"I'm Dinah, and I'm the Black Canary."
What? She just assumes they're trading codenames!
no subject
Forgive Aang, he doesn't mean to sound rude.
no subject
And what she still assumes 'Avatar' is.

'Would you be able to help me out of this city? It's just, I also need to save people, but i don't know how to get back to my world.'
no subject
no subject
'Oh.' He says simply. A tear appears on his cheek, but he quickly wipes it away.
'So, you're stuck here as well?' he asks, glumly.
no subject
"I'm afraid so," Dinah says, and then starts forward to him. "Oh, Aang, I'm so sorry."
no subject
'I guess there's nothing we can do,' he says, mostly admitting it to himself. 'I guess we're going to be here for a while.'
no subject
And if Aang doesn't object, Dinah's going to rest a leather-clad hand gently on his shoulder. "But if their is a way out, my friend will find it. She's really smart. And there's lots of people here we can help, so we can still do good."
She still thinks he's just a child hero, and as much as she disapproves of child heroes, she wants to give him something to make him feel better.

'People need help? What are we waiting for?'He runs to the door, but turns and looks at her.
He speaks, suddenly serious. 'Will you come with me? I can't do it alone.'
no subject
"I'd like that, Aang. Would you like to come and meet my friends? Helping people is kind of what we do."
no subject
Ok, maybe this city isn't so bad, if it has people who help others.
'Lets go and find your friend. Then we can look for Katara. She's my friend. And Sokka too. And Roku.'
Maybe he's getting over excited. Cut him some slack, he's only twelve.
no subject
"So, Aang, what are your powers?" she asks as she heads out of the arcade. "You do have powers, right?"
no subject
'At the moment I can only bend Air and Water.' He says, dissapointedly. 'But I'll learn Earth and Fire soon! Watch this,' he yells, running forward and creating a ball of air with his hands.
He leaps forwards and sits cross-legged on the ball, using it as an air scooter. He giggles manicly while running circles around Dinah.
no subject
"We don't call it bending," she says. "But I had lots of friends at home with all sorts of powers. I'm mostly a good fighter."
no subject
Aang stops the air scooter and slows to a stop infront of Dinah.
'Where does this friend of yours live?'
no subject

Then he pauses, confused. 'Wait, what's a plane and what is Airport?'
no subject
"Something tells me you'll like them," she says with a mysterious grin.
no subject
'Really? 'Can you lead the way?'
no subject
It's official, she's lost. Aang has completely beaten her with his cuteness.
"Sure, Can you follow one of these on your air scooter?"
She leads the way out to her motorbike, on which her helmet rests. It's not that she won't give him a ride, but she has no spare helmet in a child's size.
"I'll go slow."
no subject
Forgive Aang for bragging, he loves his air scooter.
no subject
Despite what he said, she does go slow, heading towards the airport at rarely over 20 mph.
There, true to promise, is the Aerie One, large and inviting.
no subject
And he doesn't look up in time for him to stop before he smashes into the side of it.
He should really install a speed monitor on the air scooter.
no subject
"Are you OK, there?"
no subject
'I'm fine, but what is that?'
no subject
"Oracle? There's someone who'd like to meet you."
no subject
And with that the rear of the plane begins to slowly drop down to reveal a cargo ramp.
