Kate slept in, the few dreams she had were nightmares of war, and of blinding cold imprisonment. She was outside in the field near the Cooper farm, going through katas as a warmup, despite the still bandaged leg. And then taking her bow, and firing some arrows into a makeshift target (bales of hay). If she seems especially focused on the targets as she fired, a distraction would still be appreciated.

Something always comes up. There's never any real peace. A rat always gets sniffed out eventually if it stays in its nest too long.

It's good to get a reminder, sometimes. Tom's expression is rather closed off before he says, "S'pose so."

"Thanks for the warnin'," Tom replies, suddenly in a much angrier mood.

Figuring he won't be good for conversation right now - and not feeling particularly well-disposed towards Kate for a variety of reasons - he simply gives her a nod and heads back in the house.
