Kate slept in, the few dreams she had were nightmares of war, and of blinding cold imprisonment. She was outside in the field near the Cooper farm, going through katas as a warmup, despite the still bandaged leg. And then taking her bow, and firing some arrows into a makeshift target (bales of hay). If she seems especially focused on the targets as she fired, a distraction would still be appreciated.

Will's back is hurting less after Sam looked at it and he just watches Kate for a while, not quite sure what to say.

More arrows fired. Imaging they were fairies, or the Queen.

She then paused to lay down her bow, and fetch the arrows from the target.

"Hello Will," she remarked with feigned casualness.

He can see how tense she is and so stays standing where he is,

"Day, Kate. Were ye able to sleep?"

"A little," she admitted as she yanked out the arrows with purpose.

"Were you?" She asked back with a challenging air.

A small shrug from him, it doesn't hurt as much now,

"Aye, a bit. Sam did somethin' to dull the pain in me back this mornin'."

"Good," She walked back to where her bow was, but then pain from her leg lanced up her body. And her teeth clenched together in an audible 'click' as she paused in mid-step. She tried to step forward again, but her movements were slow, limping a little.

He's beside her offering himself to lean on as quickly as he can,

"Come on, ye'll do better if ye sit for a moment."

"I'm fine!" She yelled, and tried to keep walking. Only to trip on a branch and fall over on the leg. Hot tears of pain slid down her face as she tried to stand back up.

As soon as she yells he backs away from her, his hands pulled away quickly. He comes over but is afraid to kneel down or touch her,

"Kate?"

Huh, a woman fighting.

Tom is wearing a Victorian-era suit with a newsboy cap. Just outside for a little walkabout.

Or he was, until he saw Kate.

She was good too in how she sighted those arrows and fired. Good eye and aim.

"Hello," she calmly said with underlying tension, but it wasn't directed at him. She fired two more arrows at once into the target.

"Mmhmm," Tom mutters in reply.

His greetings are usually a bit more normal. Just not when he's dealing with the idea of a woman using weapons and being any good. Not just a frying pan or a kitchen knife, but real weapons.

She was a hero and a fighter.

"Came out here to talk and communicate, or just make non-committal grunting sounds?" She glanced over at him with her cool blue eyes.

"Came here for fresh air," Tom replies, frowning a bit at the perceived disrespect in her tone.

After a moment, he admits, "You're good."

She put her bow down, and glanced over at him, "Thank you, and sorry. It's not you. Just been a rough week...month." She then walked over to fetch her arrows from the target.

"Ain't seen you around before - just pop in?"

"Been around for maybe a month now I think. But Will, Sam and I went on a trip recently. We just got back."

Sam, right now just a stream of gold mist-light-thing, comes over, sliding around her in a slow circle before eventually settling to form into Sam's actual corporeal form, pulling down the hood of his coat.
"Having fun?"

She noticed and continued firing.

"Loads," she dryly replied. Can't you tell? Such a big smile on her face... oh wait, there isn't one.

"At least Will is doing better, then." Sam frowns.

"A little bit. How are you?" She fired another pair of arrows toward the target before finally putting her bow down. She'll fetch the arrows back in a moment, but right now she was looking back at Sam.

"I'm the same as always." Sam shrugs.

"Not been coughing at least then?" She asked before she headed over to retrieve her arrows back from the hay.

"Haven't really been straining myself." Sam says, shrugging. "Besides, it's nothing that bad when I do. Just coughing."

"Good, so you're healed up from the trip now?" Her leg was still healing, and was sore.
