It had taken Zuko awhile to get used to the way the plane felt, moving - it is not like riding on that bison! - and then he'd mostly stared out of the window at the unfamiliar landscape below.
Landing was another new experience that left him resolutely hiding wobbly legs as he walks down the steps and into sunlight behind the others.
He really appreciates solid ground right now, but he'll stare darkly at nothing in particular for a bit, so nobody notices. While surreptitiously looking around.

Loo is some metres away, stretching up for a hug and grinning excitedly. Mel, sitting beyond her with Hana in her lap, looks up suddenly.
no subject
Beyond that- well, she's not alone, or anything. He's more interested in finding out what kind of place this is.
no subject
"No, Loo," she says firmly, tempering it with a kiss to the forehead. "That's not Dad..."
He's walking, for a start, and he's young - too young. More the age Zuko was when she met him: when the girls were conceived.
Forcing a smile, she raises her voice to address him; "hey."

Her hair's even weirder than Dinah's!
"Um. Hello," he says, awkwardly, then steps forward and bows formally, determined to be polite. The more people he talks to, the more he can find out about this place.

There are a few seconds worth of baby juggling so they're in her elbows, and Mel presses knuckles to heel of her hand to bow clumsily, if in accurate Fire Nation style.
"Dinah and Zinda just flown you in, right?"
She can't drag her eyes away from him, taking everything in. From the regrowing hair which she distinctly remembers, to the outfit that she doesn't recognise at all.

He's also dressed in dark red silk - more serviceable than it sounds - and carrying twin swords on his back. It might be that last which makes him look at Will's own sword curiously.

"Sir, did ye truly fly on the plane?"
no subject
"I think that's what they called it, yes," he says. "Dinah and her friend were kind enough to bring us here."
Wherever 'here' is.

Don't mind Will twisting his sleeve, Zuko carries himself like something important so time to be a peasant, makes things easier.

95 takes advantage of a free moment. She's a bit worried about him.
no subject
"Thank you. I've... never been on one before," he continues, waving a hand at the plane again. "Do they have many of those where you come from?"
Not that he's at all clear on exactly hwere that is, or what it's like.
no subject
With a kind smile, she adds, "Since it seems we'll be seeing each other, I'd like you to know that, if there's anything you need from me, I would be happy to be of service."
no subject
And flying bison, but those are completely natural.
And then he looks awkward. "That's... really nice of you. Um, likewise. You're just as new as I am, so I guess it makes sense to help each other out."
See Zuko flail. He's not really used to people being nice to him, apart from Mai, and Uncle Iroh, and he has no idea how to respond.
no subject
Her smile widens as she bows. "Oh, thank you. I hope we get along well. I'm a little bit nervous- I don't really know very much about farming."

Clearly, this must be changed.
"Gazing at the wide wonder of absolutely nothing?" he asks, zipping over in jet mode.
no subject
"Maybe," he says, eyeing the thing instead. Makes a change! "...So, what are you?"
Tact? What's that?
no subject
no subject
"Transformer, huh? We definitely don't have any of you where I'm from," he manages. "You have a name?"

But when she feels a certain footfall nearby, she stops and turns, arms up and ready to bend.
"You've got to be kidding me..."
no subject
That whole 'different times' thing is giving him some difficulty.
"Toph!" he says. "You're- I was looking for you. Are the others here?"
no subject
Toph points sharply in his direction.
"You had to follow us even here, didn't you?"
no subject
Zuko pauses, but doesn't back anywhere.
"Didn't we already have this conversation? I'm on your side!"
no subject
Stupid lie detecting. She can't even be righteously angry at him.
"Don't tell me you're from the future?"
