Flash bang flash

Flash.

The second flash there had meant to hit Bi-Face, except apparently the universe had different ideas. The third flash was an automatic reaction to suddenly being jerked out of Gotham and into some strange place that's other, and Sparrow doesn't really appreciate that.

Hey.

She knows you.

Well... maybe.

Sparrow is just different enough from the Jubilee of Xavier's school for Penance to be a little wary of her. Terribly curious, sitting up on a tree branch and peering over, over, ooooooover...

(and probably visible because of it)

...but also wary.

Conveniently, out of anyone in her world, Jubilee probably bears the most resemblance to any one person from Penance. Equally fortunately, her Sparrow training involved very little reading up on old West outlaws (though it did involved), so she's not about to see Retribution and think she's under attack.

The red movement catches her eye, and she turns towards it.

"Hey, anyone there?"

The leaves of the tree rustle - she'd ducked back when Jubilee turned toward her. The sudden onslaught of falling leaves is a result of her hair cutting through the stems when she moved backward.

...also, those few branches.

But they were only little ones, really.

Really.

Sparrow draws back, muscles tense in case whatever it is attacks her, but she doesn't worry that she might not be able to handle herself.

"Hey," she says. "Who's there?"

Hey, she looks upset. That's bad. If it were Sokka or Claire or Toph, she would come out slowly and smile, let them know that it's just their friend!

...Jubilee was never quite a friend, though. Also, she looks really upset.

There's some rustling among the leaves, but honestly? A petite red girl with bright blue eyes really doesn't blend in well with a tree.

Sparrow doesn't really go in for attacking people who may be on her side, and when peering through the leaves does actually show someone who looks - like a shy red girl, she steps forward gently.

"I won't hurt you."

Cause that's clearly the question at hand.

It was, actually, yes. So those blue eyes blink at her a couple times before sliding a foot forward on the branch. She peeks out at Jubilee a little warily. People don't always have 'happy' faces on when they see her.

...but hi!

"Hi!"

OK, that can get a happy face. Or an attempt at one.

"You OK, there?"

Attempted happy faces are good, though! There's a possibility that they may one day become actual happy faces!

Sparrow gets a smile and a red girl dropping carefully to a lower branch. She's smiling still, hopeful, reassured that the other woman isn't going to get upset again...

But, my, doesn't Jubilee look different.

Different in a lot of ways, yes.

"Can't talk? Or don't talk?"

Like for instance. "I'm Sparrow."

...okay, but seriously, if someone can't or doesn't talk, how are they supposed to answer that?

Penance smiles and waves. Hi, Jubilee!

..../Sparrow.

Y'know, the silent girl is the nicest one Sparrow's met today. Figures.

"So I'm guessing you can't help me figure out where I am?"

Penance is an exceptionally nice person! It isn't strange at all!

As for helping Sparrow find out where she is, Penance smiles and drops down to the ground.

Does that help?

- yeah if she wants it to.

"You're a lot of help."

But it's said with a smile.

She tries! And smiles back, staying crouched beside the tree.

Hi!

Oh wait, she said that already.

Sparrow considers what to do, and ends up sitting down, her cape falling down over her bare knees.

(Look, she didn't choose the outfit either. She wanted something in fishnets.)

"I guess I'm going to head back to Gotham."

Maybe she can borrow some from Dinah!

Penance continues to smile and comes a little closer. To a more 'friendly' distance, if you will.

If she spoke, she might say something like "Gotham? Oh no, don't go there! It's a terrible place and people get hurt and so will you! Stay here where there is food and no dead people!"

Unfortunately, all Jubilee gets in return for her admittance is a smile. But it's a nice one!

Nice smiles for the win!

Sparrow shrugs.

"Then at least I can see if the Barrow's still around. And if I cant' get home, I can help people."

Yes, there is always that. Sparrow's made Penance's day, anyway. Now, no matter what else happens, she has met an old friend and gotten along well with her.
