Clark is in a sickeningly good mood. There may be whistling. It's probably not because he's restocking the kitchen cupboards with the latest canned goods obtained in town earlier.
He may or may not tell you actually why, depending on who you are and how you ask.

"That's amazing that you found her again."
It would happen to someone like Clark, wouldn't it? Eden forces the bitter feelings away from her face - her expression remains polite and interested.
"Has she been here to the house? Maybe I've seen her."

"A couple of times, but the first time I took her out for coffee and the second time she just met Lucy. I think."

Before her expression falls to puzzlement: "She didn't know who you were?"
no subject
"She's from here," he explains. "We never met in this... world. Of course I didn't know that until I found her and sort of hugged her right off the bat. That was kind of awkward."

At the explanation, Eden's puzzlement smooths over into a look of comprehension. "Oh, yeah, I bet. Wow. An alternate universe friend."
Eden isn't terribly weirded out - Clark seems to be taking it okay - and she's most pointedly not thinking of Gabriel.

"So. Metropolis. You ready?"
no subject
"Sure am." And she moves to the door.

"I was thinking my way might be faster."

-- oh, right, superhuman everything.
She cannot keep up with all your powers, Clark!
Sheepishly she mutters, "Ah. Right."
no subject
"Well, unless you'd rather drive for three hours each way," he teases gently.

"Since I'm not sure if the radio stations are up, I'd rather not."

He walks to her and gives her a small smile. "So, picking up and all that, you're still okay with?" Pause. "Just to make sure."

"I wasn't sure exactly what you were wanting to see, but we're pretty much right downtown."
no subject
"It's perfect." She takes in everything she can, trying to place if Metropolis is an alternate of some city she knows. For now she focuses more on the features than the people.
"Thanks," she says, looking up at him.
no subject
"No problem," he smiles back. "Anything in particular you want to see or I can point out for you?"

Then he thinks for a minute and finally indicates due south. "There are some pretty nice places down there, but I really don't have any idea what's available." He shrugs, slightly sheepish. "I've never actually done this before since I never left home, but Chloe lives around there. I can ask her, if you want."
no subject
"Or the address of a relief agency or two. Unless there's some alternate me hanging around - or was - I don't have my bank account anymore."
no subject
"That's LuthorCorp Plaza, tallest building in Metropolis. Generally speaking, anything you might need won't be far from that, so it's a good land marker. There's one of those medical set-ups I mentioned around there," he glances back at her, "and there's a relief centre, too. They'd probably have information on where to get food and other necessities."
no subject
"Okay. So, do you want to meet up in LuthorCorp Plaza in a few hours? Hopefully I'll have everything-- well, I'll start to have things sorted out by then."

She'd normally add something like 'it'd be nice to meet Chloe', or 'wow, glad society's getting back on track', but she's a little preoccupied right now.
"So let's say...three hours? Three and a half. I have no idea how long reorganizing an entire life takes." She forces herself to keep smiling and ignore the thought of however long I have a life.
