At another time, a little later than the first time, the Cooper farm finds itself presented with yet another carload of newcomers.

At least these don't apparently plan to stay -- and certainly wouldn't seem to have close bonds, the way they're all three bitching at each other, or the way the car doors slam in order as they get out and immediately stalk in different directions.

Jack's smile shifts to one side before he forces it down to look penitent.

"Caught up in the consequences to my actions. They've had me paying penance in labour."

Jo makes a face. Before a hand comes to her cheek and she shakes her head.

"You have all your pieces so no shouting. But I may have a punch you still. Breaking a girl's dreams is just rough even with a good cause."

Beat.

"So this is your little farm? It's......quaint."

Jack laughs at that word.

"Not my farm. I just have friends here. It's a mess of guesswork and fear and is always close to falling apart. Call it what it is."

Jo wrinkles her nose and he gets a smile.

"I'm here for a meeting. Really not my style by a long shot. But at least now I can same I came, I saw, I flirted with the hot working men-"

He gets a meaning glance.

"-and then went on my merry way to beat the fuck out of monsters for the rest of my apocalypse life."

Jack grins again, and touches his hat to thank for the compliment.

"I shall be skipping port soon enough. They can't keep me for long."

Jo nodded, listening, and looking over to the place where the main area was.

Jack tilts his own head with a puzzled smile as he tries to make sense of this development. The smile slowly grows as he does so.

And is there anyway she looks like Terry Thatcher?

Jack laughs out of his nose and gives her a friendly shove in the shoulder.

She'd love to blame the multiverse, because she blames everything she can on it, but--

Obviously he doesn't really know what pop culture is, but even while Jack smirks at her return, he checks her words about Clark to what he's seen about Clark and the house itself, and arrives at something highly amusing.

"This world is a ridiculous one."

Beat.

"All worlds."

He likes it.

Jo gave him an odd look wondering where the comment came from exactly, but she nodded.

"Yup. Only get weirder too."
