They had read the terms for his execution and he had spat defiance in their faces, now just the horrible wait.
Then a horn sounds and suddenly there is hope again as a knife cuts his bonds and then he's falling and crying as the open wounds on his back shoot through with pain and he can't see and the ground feels wrong.
He should get the bag off his head but moving hurts, perhaps he's finally in Hell.
