So Slytherin wing will be right out, along with the potions classroom, but that's ok. They were now heading into the massive doors that lead into the area before the main hall and the staircases.

"Pretty sure Kansas is the only protected area so yeah, and Garo, if you want to get started on bolstering defense around the castle, go for it."

If Garo knew that castles had dungeons, he'd be avoiding them like the plague. As it is, all he knows about Hogwarts is that it's a relatively large stone fortress. It may be a nasty surprise when he finds out.

At the moment, though, he's more concerned with new smells. The doors and staircases are getting sniffed speculatively.
"Need to familiarise myself with the layout first. Make plans. Find resources." Absently.

"Oh aye, figure out where we're sleepin' an get some food."

Will's put down some of his things and has gotten hold of Kate's hand.

Kate nodded to Garo, "Sure, didn't see any maps, but go ahead. Oh, mind the paintings, they move and talk."

She squeezed Will's hand, "Not sure yet, there were some asking for passwords, and I didn't see beds elsewhere so there might be some behind there if they could let us in. Maybe you can help me with changing passwords for them since that's a good security feature."

"I'll leave you two to that." As he wanders off down one of the corridors.

"Oh aye, keep safe, Garo."

Kate watched him go, and then called out, "Oh! And careful of the steps since they move around!"

She then added to Will with a shrug, "It's a weird place but think it's useful for a base."

"Okay!" Called back as he turns a corner and heads away.

Will gives him a wave before properly kissing Kate, he wanted to wait until Garo was gone to be polite.

Her arms drew around him as she kissed him back.

"Mmm... missed you. Glad you could come though you don't mind do you? Wanted it to be your decision, not me forcing you or anything."

"Nay, course I dinna mind, glad to be somewhere I can do some good an missed ye."

"I mean other than Central Park, and that's full of those plants right now, there's not much wooded areas here. Even less than Kansas unless you leave the city."

She kept her hand linked with his as they walked around.

"It was nice on the farm but it was just too quiet, and when I heard about the city from Teddy I wanted to check it out. Then I ran into Jessica, and realized I could do something here. Bring the city back."

"Ye're 'ere, Kate an that's what truly counts."

"You sure? I mean what about when you get homesick again? Or missing our friends from the farm?"

He gives a small shrug,

"Will find a way."

She hugged him again, and rested her forehead against his.

"Just saying it's a lot to give up I know. I debated about it myself, but this is my home. Not my world, but it's my city if that makes any sense. I know you'd be the same way if you found a way to Sherwood again."

"Aye, I know, but Kate ye're me 'ome 'ere."

"Oh."

She got quiet and her cheeks turned pink at that.

So he kisses her and pulls her into so close she fits.

She kissed him back, but there was a sound of somebody clearing their throat, and a chill to the air as a shadowy figure floated past.

"...Oh, forgot to warn Garo about the ghosts too. They're ok though."

Will turns a bit pale and he's cross himself but Kate's in his arms,

"G.ghosts?"

"Yeah, there's one called Sir Nicholas who doesn't seem that bad. He's pretty friendly. It's ok." She kissed his forehead to reassure him.

"They usually leave the living alone, and they've just been lonely and confused about being here too."

"Oh aye, that's good."

He takes a long breathe before kissing her again.

"They might even be able to help us with the place. Even though some of the paintings were calling me a muggle for some reasons. Took a while to realize they meant somebody who doesn't use magic."

She then tug him along with her.

"Come on, there was a tower up this way."

"Nice to be up 'igh an that wasna nice o''em."
