Observant people may note that Garo looks quite tired and grumpy today. However, anybody that observant would've also realised a while ago that Garo usually looks tired and grumpy, so that's okay.
Currently, he's stalking around the entrance to Hogwarts, looking exceptionally cheesed off, half-heartedly going through sword forms. Botherable.

She turned around, and yelled back, "C'mon! It's the only way out of here!"

He could go back with them. It's probably the best option. But he could stay, let the Creepers come to him, put his life in danger, and see if that triggers his powers. First step to control, and he might even get to be hero of the hour.
(Shut up, it makes sense in his head, at least.)
It's a rather difficult decision.
He pauses, hesitant, before very reluctantly turning and running for the subway, heading down the stairs after Kate. The Creepers get a rather regretful look.
