Angela tilts her head to the side. "Hey, I didn't know you were pregnant...but then, it's been a while since I've seen you."

She turns her head away quickly, reddening.

"Y-yeah. 's... 'swhy I needed new clothes. din't know then, though."

"Yeah, that would be a problem pretty quickly." She sits down next to her. "Are you happy about it?"

Frown.

"...dunno. I mean... I guess I oughta be, but..." She sighs, lying back. "I mean, I'm about the worst person t'have this. But I guess there ain't much t'be done. God's will, right?"

"You'll be better than you think, I'll bet." She doesn't believe in maternal instinct, really, but when it's your kid...maybe it's different.

"You're kind of stuck now," she admits. "But hey, there are worse places to have a kid. Plus, you've got tons of people here willing to help."

"Yeah...

"Wonder how much longer it'll be. Feels like forever. It's really messin' me up, y'know?"

Angela frowns, thinking. "Have you been to a doctor? To get checked out?"

She's seen the hospital...therefore, there must be a doctor here.

She looks away shiftily.

"...do I gotta? That guy's a real pain. I'd end up punchin' him or somethin'."

"I haven't met him yet," she says thoughtfully. "And you should probably get checked out...if nothing else, maybe he can tell you how far along you are. Tell you how long you need to wait."

She crosses her arms. "It's gotta come out sometime, right?"

"Yeah." She thinks.

"Usually, it's about nine months. Did you...get pregnant here or before you came here?"

Quickly: "Before."

She's very sure about that much, anyway. And red-faced again.

"So...how long have you been here?"

She ignores the blushing. They're both women!

She scratches her head. "Umm... I dunno... It was just gettin' t'be spring, I think."

Angela thinks. "You could be six months along, then. Something like that. So...maybe you have three or four months left."

"Really?! Oh, man... auuuggh..."

Her face scrunches. "That'll be in winter, too! No way!"

Angela gives her a sympathetic look. "'Fraid so. Do you have stuff for the baby yet?"

"...I need stuff for it?!"

"Um. Clothing, blankets, diapers?"

At least that much!

"A crib?"

Sonia's face is full of horrified realization.

"That much?!"

"Sonya, it's a little person. He or she is going to need clothes."

Even medieval kids had clothes!

"I'll help you find things," she says. "If you like."

"y-yeah..." Definitely shaken up.

"Oh, man..."

"It'll be okay. You can always ask Mel for hand-me-downs from her kids too. I'll bet she has a crib or something."

"Y- y'think so? Man... I just don't know anything about this..."

I hope I don't end up killin' it or nothin'.

"But there are others here who do. And me, I at least took care of my little brother when he was born, if nothing else. I'm not living here on the Farm anymore, but I'm here all the time anyway."
