Two-Parter Post!

Inty is in her and Gabriel's bedroom, brushing her hair (it's a novelty! It used to brush itself!). If you're doing something interesting somewhere in the rest of the Cooper house, she might just swing by and poke her nose in. She does that.

Gabriel is quite definitely awake when he arrives in the bedroom. You can tell by the temper tantrum.

Quite possibly, she already knows what ails him.

Gabriel: not-very-carefully-at-all glomped the heck out of.

How's this for something interesting?

Just outside the house, in the bunker Toph is making for the room-less people, she throws a fist to the ground and a staircase to the floor level appears in the ground in front of her, finishing her grand project.

"Hotel Toph is open for business!"

It is very interesting, yes.

There's a gap of a few minutes before Inty pokes her head out the door, smiles, and walks towards the bunker.

There's a little bit of hope in her step. Blind girls can't see rainbows. She might be able to pass for normal for a little while! Until she does something disturbingly perceptive again, anyways.

There's also, unfortunately for Inty, something just a little bit... off about her, like a hum in her vibrations - the tactile equivalent of rainbow-shrouded skin. Her nature won't allow her to get away that easily.

Fortunately, it's not as weird as the man who can turn into a rat.

Toph turns to face her, only to grin in pride, dusting her hands off with an air of completion.

"No need to thank me," she says.

Gabriel clings.

"I don't," he says fiercely. "I wouldn't. You know I wouldn't."

"Then I won't."

But there is beaming!

"Other people might, however. It's quite the accomplishment, and will be much appreciated."

A number of people no longer have to sleep on the floor. Inty knows from experience how much of a relief that will be.

"Yeah, well."

Toph stretches her arms behind her head and brings her hands to rest on the back of her neck.

"I can handle a little bit of hero worship."

"You wouldn't," she agrees, wrapping her arms around him and kissing his shoulder comfortingly.

Because this is her Gabriel, and not that other man who shades the memories of Claire and Eden like a malevolent spectre.

It's amazing how much difference seven years and a little bit of rainbow can make.

"Appropriate, for a hero," says Inty with no evidence of sarcasm.

Toph beams at her. Or in her general direction anyway.

"Who are you, anyway? Are you going to move in?"

"I'm Intuition," she says. "I live in the house. Gabriel and I seem to have found ourselves a bedroom."

...sometimes even Inty says things without realizing how they sound.

"Good for you."

Toph apparently doesn't care how it sounds or who Gabriel is.

"This is a bedroom for everyone else."

"Say it in rainbows," he pleads, because they're the absolute truth and what if he changes? Because Claire said that the him she knew was older, and he can feel Inty's certainty but he needs to hear it out loud.

"I'm aware," she says cheerfully. Whether to the first or the second statement is up for debate. Possibly both!

Toph just shrugs.

"I'm Toph," she offers, realising she hadn't said it already.

"You wouldn't," Inty repeats softly in a technicolour swirl that goes straight from ears to soul.

He isn't that person.

(Could he become him?)

(She doesn't know--)

(--she'd still love him if he did.)

It is!

And people don't react so well to 'I know' when they tell you their names.

What? Toph's awesome.

"So where are you from?"

"Intuition," she says, in the hesitant tone of voice that means and now you're going to ask what's with that name, aren't you.

Right now, he doesn't want to pick up on any hint in the negative. So it's only with relief that he pretty much hugs her living daylights out.

"Never heard of it," Toph says.

Honestly, she doesn't have that much of an imagination.

"Does that mean you've also got funky powers that aren't as cool as bending?"

Nothing's as cool as bending.

Well, maybe firebending. That's a lousy element.

"I love you," she says, because it's true and he needs to hear it.

...know stuff? No; Inty avoids that phrase instinctively.

"...do things the right way," she finishes instead. "Except when I don't."
