A suave-looking black man strolls into the farm, looking around assessingly.

"Well, this is nice."

"Pi pi pi, pikachu pi pika!" it replies cockily. It is rare and very cute! That is why it is the best!

It grooms its head a bit before hopping onto the rock to pose in all its (foot tall) glory.

"Quite fascinating."

He examines the posing creature dutifully.

"Pi chu pikachu pi?" It sniffs at him. New arrivals are always interesting! It is because they are new!

"The Marquis de Carabas. And you?"

"Pikachu," it replies. It does not have any fancy titles.

"Pikapi!" It does, however, have a paw for hand-shaking.

He shakes its paw politely, then bows.

"Pleased to meet you."

Whoa, bowing! It returns the gesture. Bowing means you are more important!

"Chupikachu, pi pikapi?"

Approximate translation: What's a nice kid like you doing in a place like this?

"Much the same everyone else is, I imagine. Exploring this brave new world."

Ah, yes. Exploring. "Pikachu pika!" it exclaims, trotting off, then pausing to make sure he's following.

He has nowhere else pressing to be, so he follows willingly.

There's a winding path, through a lot of flat grassland.

"Pikapi!"

And then they are at the destination. Which is pretty much the same as the rest of the grassland.

Oh, wait. This one has shiny rocks on the ground.

"Pikapikachu!" it beams. Exploring!

The Marquis drops into a graceful crouch to study the rocks. You never know what might come in useful, after all.

Are quartz and mica useful? Because that's what these are.

"Pikapi?" It offers one to him.

Anything can be tradeable, especially where he comes from. He accepts the stone graciously. "Thank you."

And it disappears into one of his pockets.

"Pikachu." It smiles a little beastie smile at him. And then hops off to go play in the grass.
