You hear that?
That is the noise of Jack approaching the farm, European folk metal blaring out of the speakers of the Coraline. He had considered arriving at Ruth, but then he decided to screw that idea. Jack Hollins doesn't fear anything at the farm, dammit.
So he's driving up merrily, singing along with the radio.

Dick looks up and grins, and waves a hello. He's messing with his bike again, for lack of having anything else to do.

"Ahoy," he says when he draws close. "I'm following Jo and Dean."

Jack pulls over and stops his truck, jumping out.
"I'm good for finding things. Mayhap I can track down the missing body."

"I have an advantage," he assures Dick. "Where's the girl?"

"I could dig up some grub while you meet her."

She's got a grin for the car that pulls up. Flicks up her sunglasses.
"Well, look what the cavalry drug in."

"Metropolis became suddenly quiet and dull."

"Get my message?"

"Mayhap I'd have followed you anyway."

She says it with a smug smile, not shifting from her seat, but her eyes follow the bounce.

She is. Jack would like to take a time out here and satiate his addiction to Jo.
Or, he'll just meet her at the swing, leaning over.
"How has your time been?"
no subject
"Boring." Smirk, beat. "I'm watching the grass grow while waiting for this boy to show up and find me a body so I can do my job."

So there. And Jack is amused by her choice of words.
"The ghost is inside?"

As Jack arrives, Oliver is pulling his gloves on, breathing heavily as he walks to the farmhouse.
The truck and its occupant get a frown.

Although the grin does not really spread past the mouth. It's just a confident, highly amused baring of the teeth.
"How goes the training?"
no subject
Stiffly, "Well enough." It's all he can manage in between breaths.
no subject
"Aye, wouldn't want to be caught lax, would ye?"

All the time Jack's studying Oliver, with the expression he'd usually keep for law enforcement in his favourite ports: a known enemy who he will tolerate until their paths cross directly.

Beyond the recent physical exertions, the circles under his eyes say he hasn't slept well - but his posture and bearing say he's on alert now.
"How are the roads?" he asks after a moment.
