Tobias and Rachel are using Lucy's morph again for the speed on a little trip down to Texas. Tobias is getting a feel for the dragon body. It's rather interesting, really. Power and grace and the ever-present hunger...

He and Rachel stoop simultaneously toward a deserted town. He's morphing almost as soon as he hits the ground.

Tobias just shakes his head and launches himself after her. <Now what?>

She lands not to far away, closer to the tree line that leads to wilderness than the mass of rotting flesh. Specifically, it's downwind - so she can demorph.

And be grumpy that way instead.

"How should I know?" Rachel growls, once she has a mouth to growl with again. "I don't even know what we're looking for."

Tobias demorphs too and moves in to land on Rachel's shoulder. Then he leans his head against against hers in silence.

She's startled by the motion, not the action - as soon as he's landed, Rachel lets out a soft breath.

And then another one, larger, deflating a little under his talons. She doesn't say anything, but she can't get the thought out of her head either.


She needs Jake if she's going to be of any use to anyone.

He's thinking the same thing, really.

<We'll figure something out.> Even if that something is finding someone who can make the decisions.

The next noise she makes is derisive at best. Figure what out, for what purpose, and to what end?

Another deep breath is released, sharply, and Rachel shakes her head. Even that motion is small, though, careful of Tobias' position on her shoulder.

"Let's get out of here," she mutters.

He nuzzles gently at her hair. <Let's do that.>

He has no idea what they're going to do either.
