Will is doing a little better. There are so many new people and things that he's found himself spending most of his time outside in his tree or with Kate.

The ache in him that's missing Sherwood and home is almost painful as he sits in his tree and watches the world below.

(OOC: I EP finally, the headvoice got shy on me. Fair warning for angst with the outlaw.)

He's not quite sure what to say to that and curls up a bit more,

"Thank ye, milady, truly I'm 'ealin' fine."

"So tell me about Kate?"

Subject change for the win. Also, Dinah wants to know about her.

"She's a fighter but 'as na powers, milady. Uses sword an bow an staves, older weapons but she's a modern fighter. 'as such strength to 'er."

There may be a quick racking of Dinah's brains to see if she can think of a Kate who fits this description.

"That's a lot of weapons. Most of my friends became experts of just one."

"Well think she 'as to get better at 'em to make up for na 'avin' powers. Though got 'er codename from the bow she uses, in 'onor o'a fellow named 'awkeye who died."

OK, Dinah doesn't know that one. But she smiles.

"She'd get on with Ollie then. My mother had no powers, but she did all her fighting hand to hand."

"Oh aye, milady, ne'er met so many folks with gifts till I got 'ere. Tis some magic in Sherwood but naught like that."

Though Sherwood shines out in his green eyes.

"It's sort of a double edged sword," Dinah says. "My world's full of metas, but they're not all heroes."

"Oh aye, milady, must be 'ard. Just so strange for me is all."

"I imagine it's no harder than a world where everyone - good and bad - has no powers," Dinah says. "You can find villiany anywhere."

He rubs at his wrist again,

"Oh aye, milady, just 'ave to do all ye can to keep those who canna."

Another concerned glance at his wrist, but Dinah nods.

"I know you understand," she says.

"What have you been doing since getting here?"

"Na too much. Went with Sam an Kate to the Coast an found it full o'Fae an came back. Since then just been tryin' to 'eal an Kate's teachin' me to read. Wish to do more but still 'urtin' is all."

"Well, don't push yourself too hard," Dinah says. "But don't let yourself atrophy too much. When you're better healed, I'd love to spar with you a couple of times."

The need to take care of wounded heroes is clearly something she's picked up from Babs.

"Been goin' through me sword forms e'ery day, makes me feel I'm o'some use still."

"It's good to keep in shape," Dinah agrees. "I hope you get better quickly."

"Oh aye, willna let anyone else down."

Dinah frowns, first forward, then at him.

"Don't think like that," she says. "I'm sure you didn't let anyone down."

He moves in on himself a bit more,

"'fore 'ppeared 'ere, 'eard Robin's 'orn, 'e shouldna 'ad to risk 'imself to save me. Didna break but didna wish to be a trap for 'im, better to let me 'ang."

Dinah fills in a bit of the picture herself, while inhaling heavily and letting it out slowly, trying not to shake.

"Listen to me, Will. Heroes like Robin, they rescue the people they love when they're in trouble. You didn't let him down."

"Got caught cause I was stupid, course I did."

"It's easy to blame yourself," Dinah says. "Believe me, I know. But it happens. It's not your fault."

He just shakes his head and keeps rubbing at his wrists, showing the scars as the shirt sleeve moves,

"Was though."

"Will."

Dinah reaches for him, and gently but firmly removes his hand.

"It's natural to blame yourself, but it's also going to stop you from healing. You have to let it go."

"Why? I may be livin' but I'm naught 'ere but a broken man."
