Clark is not nervous. Not at all. That pacing he's doing outside Chloe's apartment building? Totally not nerves. It's just a second date and the first one was the one he was nervous over. This one should be a breeze.

He just needs a minute.

Finally, after taking a quick look around to make sure no one's watching, he takes a deep breath and speeds up to her apartment, knocking lightly on the door.

It's hard to not just walk in.

"I told you, I'm not a hero. Chauffeur," he shrugs, "I can maybe live with."

Clark doesn't waste any time in picking her up again and getting them back to the front door of her apartment in almost record time.

Not a hero yet, anyway. She's totally not giving up on him.

"Someone's eager," Chloe mutters when they come to a stop in front of her door. She smiles up at him, running a hand through his hair. "Gimme a moment and I'll fish out the keys."

He raises an eyebrow, setting her down on the floor. "We can always go back if you'd prefer I take my time."

"It's a joke, Clark," she replies with a laugh, digging in to her purse until pulling out a set of keys. "This is totally fine."

"I know," he says softly, smiling down at her and watching her carefully. "Not like I'm the impatient one, anyway."

She turns around after opening the door, staring at him.

"I'm not impatient!" Chloe protests. "I'm just..."

There are certain words that would fit in perfectly there. As the mun is typing this in class, she chooses to let Clark fill in the blank himself.

The mun should really know better than to leave things up to Clark.

"Uh huh," he replies, vastly amused. "I hate to think what you would have done if I hadn't happened along."

Laughing, "Hey!"

"What?" He teases, following her into the apartment. "You might not be safe to unleash onto mankind."

She closes the door behind the and locks it.

Then, Chloe tilts her head and smiles curiously at him. "Is that so, Kent?"

"Maybe? I mean, I'm fairly certain that when you want something, it's pretty hard to dissuade you from going after it."

"That's kind of true," she responds, smiling prettily at him. "This is going to sound completely lame, but: you know what I want now?"

Suddenly, Clark feels like a gazelle caught in a lion's gaze.

"Uh, more kissing?"

"I was going to say you," she says, blushing a little. "But that works too."

"Oh. Right. Good." Chloe may notice he does better with teasing banter than he does ... with anything else.

"'Cause yeah, that would be nice," he agrees, taking a small step toward her.

It's another one of those things that fall into the adorable category to Chloe.

"I think so." She nods to a door that's still half ajar. "My bedroom's in there."

"Bedroom?" Clark repeats and no, his voice did not just go up a few notches. It's just your imagination.

Imagination or not, Chloe giggles.

"Yeah, bedroom, Clark. It tends to make things like feeling you up way more interesting."

Oh, Clark gets it now. She's trying to kill him.

"You can't do that out here?" You know, where there isn't a bed?

Trying? Chloe thinks that she's succeeding.

"I thought that was part of the reason why we came back here."

"Well, it's private," he points out. "And we can do what we were doing before. In private."

"In the bedroom."

"You're incorrigible, you know that?" This may be a rhetorical question, because to him, the answer is obvious. "Trying to corrupt the innocent."

Chloe looks him over. "Something tells me that with a body like that, you can't be as innocent as you claim."

Clark looks down at himself and then back up at Chloe. "What about my body?"
