There is a big notice now up on the notce board Nathan provided.

It says:

Martial Arts Training.
All levels welcome. Intermediate and advanced to start at dawn by the bunker. Beginners at 3pm every afternoon. Everyone welcome.

In jeans and a T-shirt, for once (the fishnets are only for fighting), Dinah stands back and admires her handiwork.

Yeah, it's good to feel needed.

"That's sort of what I was thinking," Dinah admits. "Also, if you guys wanted to come out on sweeps with us,we need to be a team."

Steph nods, leaning against the wall and grinning around at the farm in general.

"If Sokka comes, I'm coming," she says happily. "He'd get into way too much trouble otherwise."

"But do you think Sokka's going to insist on tagging along with you?"

Steph considers this for a moment.

"...I'm not sure. He said he would when I asked him, but insist might be a strong way to put it. More like nagged into, I think."

Dinah shrugs with one shoulder.

"Well, if you'll vouch for him, maybe we could let him come on a few missions. But only because you like him."

Steph grins. "He's totally good. But don't tell him I said it."

Dinah is awesome. The Birds are awesome. Steph missed them more than she thought. Big happy Steph-grin!

"And Mel too, right? She fulfills the requirements, yeah?"

"Course she does."

Mel's a girrrrrl. But Dinah's got more important things to talk about.

"So how are things between you and Sokka?"

"Things are good." Steph grins at Dinah, lacing her hands behind her head to stretch. "I mean, they could be better? But they're good. He's good."

"Uh huh."

Dinah smirks a little.

"You told him yet?"

"I think he's got enough to worry about." Steph sticks her tongue out at Dinah, but she's grinning a little wider. "He's not like Robin, I don't wanna mess this up."

"Might be worth giving him a chance to mess it up," Dinah points out. "Mooning's not a good look on you."

"I do not moon," Steph says indignantly.

And then looks shifty.

"Much."

"Neither do I," Dinah says quickly.

Then adds, "Babs, however... someone's missing someone."

Steph's face falls. "Oh, man. That's gotta suck. ... but maybe she's lucky? Last world I was in, I had Tim, and that was totally good at first until I realised it was a crazy Tim. Then things weren't so good."

The last thing any world needs is a crazy Nightwing.

- uh, crazier than normal.

If that's possible.

"I think we should just hit the town in Metropolis. There's got to still be a night life, right?"

Actually, now Dinah's plotting. And uh... Steph can't come.

... dammit, Eden didn't have any age limits. >(

"I like this idea," Steph says, grinning. "Can you whip us up some false ID?"

"I can."

"I'm not going to."

Steph eyes her for a moment and then grins cheerfully.

"Oh, well, I guess we'll stay home and be good then."

Cos she'll totally do that.

Yeah.

She's got such a good track record when it comes to staying out of things she's told to stay out of, of course.

Dinah actually facepalms.

"I'm so glad Batman's not around to disapprove of this."

"Touch wood!" Steph exclaims, and suits action to word by reaching out to tap Dinah's forehead, giggling.

NO BATMANS when there is sneaky underage sneakery to be doing, plz.

Dinah rolls her eyes.

"But if I get lucky, you're getting yourself home."

Steph beams, and jumps up to kiss Dinah's cheek.

"You're the best."

...

Holy crap. I read this and couldn't stop laughing.

I love you so hard.
