There is a big notice now up on the notce board Nathan provided.

It says:

Martial Arts Training.
All levels welcome. Intermediate and advanced to start at dawn by the bunker. Beginners at 3pm every afternoon. Everyone welcome.

In jeans and a T-shirt, for once (the fishnets are only for fighting), Dinah stands back and admires her handiwork.

Yeah, it's good to feel needed.

Soon, she has someone gawking at her handiwork. Or at least eyeballing it thoughtfully. She's likely seen him around, with Mel or Steph or the babies (or all of the aforementioned), but never spoken.

"Mmm," says Sokka, still looking at the sign.

He'd say more, but the apple he's holding in his teeth is in the way. What? He'd take it out if his hands weren't full of a box full of wood scraps.

"That sounds promising," Dinah says. "You need a hand with that apple?"

"Mm-mm," Sokka replies with a shake of his head - and spits the apple into the box with a grin as he turns to look at her. "Mine. You're Dinah?"

"Yeah," Dinah says, clearly a little disappointed she doesn't get any apple.

"And you're Sokka, right? Steph's friend?"

"Yup, just the one," Sokka replies with a solemn nod, grinning a moment later. He sets the box down on the ground and brushes his hands free of dust. "You're the one that trained with Mel, right? Had an audience."

Zuko... has no idea what that says.

Therefore, after squinting at it for a while as he approaches, he gives up and turns to Dinah instead.

"What is that?" he asks, drawing level with her and stopping with a nod of greeting.

A nod which Dinah returns, just before she frowns thoughtfully.

"A notice advertising training sessions," she says. "I was thinking of putting it up again in Japanese. Think that'd help?"

She knows Zuko isn't Japanese, but Windows 95 is.

"Oh," he says, expression clearing slightly. "And, I'm not sure. What is Japanese... another language?"

Dinah, nods, and grabs her pen again.

"Now, I'm not perfect with the script," she says, and then writes Training Sessions or something like it underneath in pretty accurate script.

"Can you read that?"

Zuko eyes it. It definitely looks more familiar than the other version, and if he takes it to mean...

"It's closer," he says after a moment, reluctantly. "The shape of this," he indicates a symbol, "looks a good deal like our writing. But without knowing already, I don't think I could have read it."

"I don't know about this," Steph says, imitating Dinah's stance and putting her Mostest Thoughtful look on. "Training? Sounds boring."

This would be an 'I AM SO IN, CANARY, OMG, TEACH ME TEACH ME TEACH ME!' in Steph-talk.

"Yeah," Dinah agrees with a huge sigh. "But the alternative is helping Babs with her - " shudder " - computers. So I'm chosing to beat people up instead."

"Well," Steph says, sighing terribly, "I guess I can cope with that."

BEAM!

"And Sokka will come too, I'll make him. Oh, this is gonna be so great!"

"You guys, hopefully those meta kids," Dinah's referring to the x-kids, but she doesn't know the word. "Zuko, Mel. We should get quite the turnout."

"Awesome," Steph says, beaming. "Claire might come too, and I'll see if I can get anyone else. People definitely need to learn. Cos, you know, sooner or later the monsters'll learn where we are."

The yellow thing returns with some scrap paper and a crayon in its mouth.

"pifapiiii!"

Oh my god it's the yellow thing!

Dinah's face lights up when she sees the paper. Is it going to write?

It drops the stuff and smiles. "Pikapi! Pi pikapika?"

"Good!" Dinah answers, crouching down to chat. "I'm going to start training some of the fighters around here."

That's cool. "Piiiikachu!" it informs her, posing in what might be assumed to be a badass sort of way. If you're a yellow thing.

"Pi pi pi, pikachu pi pika?" it asks, pointing up at the notice.

Kate looked at the notice, and wrote a note with her name, the disciplines she knew. Which were extensive, and that she was interested in advanced training or to assist with teaching others.

And a little while later Dinah finds the note and goes actively seeking out Kate Bishop.

There definitely should, and Kate was in fact practicing her katas in one of the fields near the farm. Obviously practiced, and some have said she's Olympic class in that and archery.

Dinah would probably be disqualified from the Olympics for being a professional crime fighter. Besides, letting her compete would be about as fair as letting Batman in. It just isn't something that she considers.

Still, this Kate girl's pretty good. Clearly experienced. Dinah stands to watch her style.

She had studied various forms including kickboxing, jitjutsu, and so on.

She paused in her katas when she noticed the audience, and there was a nod.
