There is a big notice now up on the notce board Nathan provided.
It says:
In jeans and a T-shirt, for once (the fishnets are only for fighting), Dinah stands back and admires her handiwork.
Yeah, it's good to feel needed.
It says:
Martial Arts Training.
All levels welcome. Intermediate and advanced to start at dawn by the bunker. Beginners at 3pm every afternoon. Everyone welcome.
- Dinah Lance
AKA The Black Canary.
In jeans and a T-shirt, for once (the fishnets are only for fighting), Dinah stands back and admires her handiwork.
Yeah, it's good to feel needed.

Hmm, no cash.
It offers up a piece of gravel, though. Look, it's pretty! "Pika?"
no subject
Hell, it's not like Dinah doesn't have a winning smile and a good repuation.
"Coming inside?"
no subject
OMG FLOWERS
FLOWERS EVERYWHERE
It is so amazed that it is not sure what to exclaim over first. So, it just sits there with big, shiny eyes.

Who is in turn fascinated by small yellow thing.
"How's business?" She asks, intiating the conversation.
no subject
Initiate hiding-behind-Dinah procedures.
Also, peeking-out-curiously procedures.
no subject
While the shopkeeper turns out to have a small child, peering out from behind the counter at the yellow thing.
no subject
Small human!
OMG
Staaaare.
Sniff sniff.
Creep closer.
Staaaaaaaaare.
no subject
"Oh yes, don't worry. It's gentle and really intelligent. Just try not to frighten it."
And then there's a child of undetermined gender reaching out a hand to pat a pokemon awkwardly on the head.
no subject
Oh, wait, just patting. That's OK. It shuffles forward again.
"Pikachu?"
no subject
Dinah thinks so. The child's mother agrees.
It's sad, apparently they had a kitten, but it died when everything went to shit. And would it like something to eat?
no subject
Yes, its attention has definitely been got, what with the straight-up ears and the eyeshinies.
"Pikapi?"
no subject
A plateful of what can only be called rabbitfood is presented, amid further young child pettings.
Meanwhile, Dinah's still talking about flowers.
no subject
It nibbles happily, then lifts a leaf up to the small human. "Pikapi?"
no subject
But it's sitting now, stroking yellow fur happily, if a little heavy handedly.
("I'd love some of these lillies for the farm..." Dinah's saying, followed by "...are you serious? Thank you!")
no subject
"Pi pi pi, pikachu pi pika?" it asks, pointing at a sunflower.
no subject
There's further conversation. In the course of which Dinah's actually offered a job.
"Anything else, Chu?"
no subject
A nice, HUGE yellow flower, that it can barely carry.
So yeah, it's good.
no subject
Money changes hands, but less than Dinah wants to pay, and they retire to the car, loaded with flowers.
"now I have to tell Babs I have a new job."
no subject
"Pikachu?" Babs... oh, that's the person with the metal thing that it's not allowed to eat.
no subject
"It's OK. I can balance helping people with a florist's job. I've done it before."
no subject
That would be volunteering to help.
