Nhim certainly hopes that this is the right farm. She's visited several on her way here with no luck, and the deer she carries in her maw is starting to taste a bit off. The dragon lands in an ungainly fashion at the Cooper farm, dropping her catch with a thud and peering into the house's upper story window. "Hello?" she calls, experimentally, then mutters to herself, "I hope no one has those damned sticks again, if this isn't the right farm..."

Oliver is suddenly grateful that Beauregard is in the stables as he looks up from making a Ward around the earth bunker.

He raises his arm and waves, smiling broadly.

"Hello!"

Nhim's ears prick up as she walks over, nodding a greeting to Oliver. "Hello. It seems that I did finally find the right farm-or at least I hope. I'm afraid my luck so far has been poor."

Oliver looks concerned. "Oh?"

"Apparently not everyone is friendly to dragons, no matter what their intentions may be. I've been charged at twice by humans wielding pitchforks and attacked three times by some sort of odd stick weapon. All I know is that they must be enchanted, but with what spell I have no idea."

"They would be rifles, unless I missed my guess. They shoot pieces of lead at high speeds into one - quite fatal for humans, though I'm glad to see not for yourself."

He's already looking her over to see if he can spot any wounds.

"No, they aren't fatal, although they did hurt more than I'd like. I've been attempting to keep the spots clean where they managed to hit me clean, at least."

There's a particularly nasty spray of shotgun pellets across her left forelimb, and a grazed spot on her flank-but other than that, she seems intact.

Oliver frowns at the wound on her leg. "I have a minor ability to speed healing and prevent infection in others. It would please me to offer my services to you - not only please me, but," wryly, "aid you, I do hope."

"It wouldn't be the first time I've accepted a healer's help," she says, laying down so her leg is closer to the ground. "Thank you."

"I'll admit to never having tried it on a--" creature, he had been about to say, "on someone as large as yourself, and warn that the healing generally takes around an hour or so each day for...oh, a wound like this...four days, perhaps, to take full effect."

"Any healing is better than none at all, no matter how long it takes," she says, with a slightly stiff shrug. "If not for healing, I'd have lost my leg long ago."

Oliver's face, already serious, sobers further. "Forgive me if I pry, but how did you receive such a wound?"

Oliver is more bold in his choice of conversation with a dragon than he would be with a human.

"A battle ages ago-one of the great ones that happens every so often, where it seems as if the entire world has been drawn up into one side or another. The forces of darkness versus those of light, as usual. Another dragon grabbed hold of it with his teeth and broke it before the mage I was carrying killed him. The armor on my upper legs protected that part, at least, but I landed badly and broke the lower part further."

She doesn't sound bothered by it-it was years ago, and she's long since grown used to it.

Oliver shakes his head, expression sympathetic. "Dreadful business.

"A mage, you said?" There's no poor reaction to the word - he's speaking of another world's magic-users, after all, not his own.

Thomas was busy fiddling with a ring he recently snagged, trying to judge the worth of the diamond, when a shadow swept over head. Then he actually looks up, and his jaw drops almost to his knees. "Fuck me, a dragon!"

Nhim looks over at Thomas, nodding a little. "Yes. And please say you don't plan to attack me; that's happened often enough lately."

"I don't... I'm not..." Thomas reels in his jaw, wincing slightly. "Attacking ain't my thing."

"Good," Nhim says, sitting down. "I've had enough of it for the moment."

Thomas rubs his eyes, not beliveing what he's seeing. After all this, now... a dragon? "Er. Hi."

She nods, peering down at the human. "Hello." After a moment's pause, she adds, "Is what you just did with your jaw normal for you?"

"Huh?" He's still trying to get over the whole dragon thing. Seriously, a dragon! "Oh, yeah, uhm, I stretch."

The dragon, meanwhile, seems to have few issues with the whole stretchy thing. "Interesting. Are you a wizard of some kind?"

"No, I'm a Joker." He holds his hands up, letting hsi fingers stretch all tentacle like. "It's caused by, like, this disease, right?"

Nhim blinks, lowering her head so she can get a better look. "A disease? I've never heard of a disease that could do that-all the diseases I know cause things like spots, coughing, sneezing, that sort of thing."

"This one kills people. Or mutates them." He shrugs, his fingers still wriggling. "It's pretty damn nasty."

"Most diseases that kill are, although I'm not familiar with ones that...mutate," she says, sounding unfamiliar with the word. "Why are you called a Joker, though?"
