They had read the terms for his execution and he had spat defiance in their faces, now just the horrible wait.

Then a horn sounds and suddenly there is hope again as a knife cuts his bonds and then he's falling and crying as the open wounds on his back shoot through with pain and he can't see and the ground feels wrong.

He should get the bag off his head but moving hurts, perhaps he's finally in Hell.

"Oh aye, guess tis possible, anyway they're always sayin' we've magic."

"Yeah. I mean, Apocalypse was born a good five millenia ago, so there were definitely at least some mutants in Will's time." It hasn't occured to him that Will might be from an alternate universe.

"Wow. Yeah, I guess so."

Blink.

"Well, whatever."

Beer > history, in Val's opinion.

Will's found a chair and some more food looking things though he can't relax properly with his back hurting but sitting is good,

"'ere think these might be edible."

Cocktail peanuts and old chips.

"Sleeping in that class, too?" Marley grins, sticking his tongue out at Val. "Thanks, Will. Food is good."

Val sticks her tongue out right back.

"Hey, I'm covered, thanks. Still got five more yuckybars," she says, patting her jacket pocket.

"Tis 'nough o'these, might taste better an leave those as a last resort."

"Yeah. You don't want to eat yuckybars, surely?"

Shrug.

"The yuckybars ain't that bad. Better than stale peanuts any day."

"Tis food, an those arena that bad just na that good. Wonder if they've a cold cellar somewhere."

Will's rather hungry, the Sheriff hasn't been feeding him that well.

Marley amuses himself by getting a load of peanuts in his mouth and then spraying them out at Val.
"They're delicious." Cheerily. "And yeah. Probably a cellar somewhere. Must be."

She snorts, catching them neatly in a large flap of lightstuff and tossing them back.

"You are such a child, Mar."

Will just laughs as he eats, just being with people who are happy is helping a lot, things hurt but even though he's not home, life seems possible again at least.

"You're just a child. So there."

"You have a peanut in your hair," she points out brightly.

"Aye, ye do, Marley."

Marley runs a hand through his hair, quickly.
"No, there isn't." Frown. "You tricked me."

"Made you look," says Val with a triumphant grin.

Will tosses a peanut at Marley just to help really, "Oh aye, but ye did."

"You're both very cruel. See if I share my peanuts with you."

"I don't want your peanuts," Val announces sunnily.

"Oh aye, shall we 'ave to kill a deer for ye then, lady?"

Will gets another glare.

"Aren't any deer here." Nonchalantly. Because Marley totally doesn't care.

"Eww, dear. I'll stick to my yuckybars, thanks."

Sneakishly, a tendril of lightstuff sneaks up on Marley to ruffle his hair. In a sneaky way.

...Inch-thick ropes of glowing white light are not particularly good at the sneak.

Will just laughs and leans back for a moment and then gives a little yelp, he hates having his back hurt,

"Oh aye, seems for the best."
