They had read the terms for his execution and he had spat defiance in their faces, now just the horrible wait.
Then a horn sounds and suddenly there is hope again as a knife cuts his bonds and then he's falling and crying as the open wounds on his back shoot through with pain and he can't see and the ground feels wrong.
He should get the bag off his head but moving hurts, perhaps he's finally in Hell.

She nods at the result, more or less pleased.

"Bloody 'ell that's lovely an aye course it is. Ye drink what ye can find an 'ope the good stuff is on the roads."

It's only momentary, though, and then Marley's looking away, puffing a small shockwave into the air as others would puff rings of smoke.

Val blinks. Surely he couldn't have been glaring because-- nope. No. Definitely not. Wishful thinking.
She hides behind her mug.

It makes sense in Will's mind and he's bandaged and has beer and isn't dead, life is weird but good.

Blink.
"Well, whatever."
Beer > history, in Val's opinion.

Cocktail peanuts and old chips.
