"Yaaaaugh!" says Sokka, and flails at her.

And -- oh, crap, it's her again.

"All right, smarty pants, will they accept Fire Nation money, then?"

"No," she replied. "But I know where you can get some."

Sokka scowls.

"... well, okay, where."

Layla pulls out a hello kitty wallet that's stuffed with cash from her backpack.

And grins.

"I don't want yours!"

"But it would get you lots of stuuuuuuu-uuuuffffff!" Layla said in a sing-song voice as she waved the wallet back and forth.

Sokka folds his arms and stares at her from his (slightly) superior height.

"Why do you want to give me money?" he demands.

"Maybe I just like to shop," she said innocently.

Blink. Blink blink.

"Wait, you want to come with me?"

"Sure," she said with a shrug. "Why not?"

"But -- I don't like you!" Sokka exclaims, flailing a little. "You know stuff! It's creepy!"

...yeah, he's already given in.

"Who says you have to like me?" Layla asked with a smirk. "Plus I know a place where they have bitchin' hats."

Sokka is so torn.

"...I do like hats..."

"And there's a shop that has a certain polish that would work with your boomerang."

"...polish, you say."

THINKY FACE.

"...promise you won't start talking about .... anything?"

"What? You want me to not say anything all day?" Layla asked. "Or not just talk about stuff I know?"

"You can talk about stuff you know as long as it's not stuff I don't want you to talk about," Sokka informs her, crossing his arms smugly. "And you should know which stuff, since you know stuff."

"Fine," Layla says in a huffy tone. "I promise I won't break your brain."

Sokka beams at her, obviously quite satisfied with this promise.

"All right, what are you waiting for, then? Let's go!"

"Actually I was waiting for you to get over your fear of me," Layla said marking her page in her book and getting up from the ground. "Anyone else coming with?"

"I'm not scared of you! I just ... like my brain in one piece," Sokka says indignantly, folding his arms and setting off down the road.

"I'm not asking anyone else to come. I like the others too much to make them put up with you."

BFFs already.

"Well if you just want me all to yourself, I completely understand," Layla said batting her eyelashes. "I'm quite adorable you know."

She's kidding. Really.

Sokka's eyebrows bounce off the roof.

"Excuse me," he says, starting to walk down the road, "I think I'm just going to go throw up now. BLEAAAUGH!"

It's not a very convincing throwing-up noise, but it gets the point across.

Layla just smirked. "I knew you'd do that."

"I hate you," Sokka informs her haughtily.

And then puts the lie to it a moment later by eyeing her warily.

"Have you got a hat, or are you gonna walk all the way to town without one and die of heatstroke on me?"
