Mel has decided to Organise.

She even has a notebook - OK, it's a notebook she bought in the nursery section of the largest store in Smallville, and it has a blue rabbit on the front, but it's open to her side with scrawling writing:

Hunting; Trade; Farming; Protection; Morale; Rescue

And there are names:

Toby - baking, Lucy - gathering, Babs - outside protection

And other things. But she's not writing in it now,: she's sitting on the roof of the bunker, with the babies napping on a blanket nearby, and she's working on an wood axe she found in a barn.

She's sharpening the handle to a point - sharpening the blade will come later.

Meanwhile, back at the farm, sometime after Thrust has met Mel and Xander but before Steph's planned party, Thrust is just minding his own business, looking for parts to make comlinks out of, when an alert comes through.

Vehicon energy signature: detected.

He doesn't waste a nano-klik, dropping to his cycle mode and roaring off the farm like a bat out of hell at something very close to his top speed.

Twenty minutes later, he comes back, however. Topping up on energon would be a good idea, see-- Vehicons aren't known for their friendliness. But before that's done, Thrust leans a wide plank salvaged from the ruins of the barn, tightens the beam on his energy weapon, and in carefully neat letters, burns a message into it.

Second Vehicon on planet; gone to inspect. Intended return at or before time of Steph's party. Heading south.

Vehicon unit Thrust

Just in case Mel or Steph or Lucy came looking for him. He had a responsibility towards the first, an appointment with the second, and the third... well, base commander, among other things. (It's not a note that leaves much evidence of the jangle of hope, fear, anticipation, confusion, and gratitude thrumming through Thrust's spark, but he's not about to take the time to compose something that long.)

He'd forgotten for a moment that he couldn't just signal in.

So. Now tearing off the farm again, again at high speeds. If nothing gets in his way, he's got at least a two-cycle trip in front of him.

Thrust doesn't intend to let anything get in his way.

There's more than a few things Jetstorm hates, but today just seems to be full of them. The ladybug, flying through underground tunnels, ramming into things-in this case, said ladybug's web-and organic goop. He really hates that organic goop.

Fortunately for Jetstorm, it's his lucky day (relatively speaking), since before he can hit the goop, there's a flash of white light.

----

The one advantage technorganic goop does have, Jetstorm decides, is that it'd be a lot softer to land on than the rock-hard dirt and grass (grass? Ew.) he just hit. His attention immediately goes to clawing his way out of the webbing, however, and he does that first, then pries the odd disc-shaped contraption Blackarachnia stuck on him not too long ago. Jetstorm peers at it for a moment, chucks it into the grass.

Still sprawled out on the ground and trying to get his bearings, the Vehicon glances around. In this direction...dirt! In that direction...dirt! And a turkey vulture, which doesn't scan as a Transformer, but that looks decidely cranky. It stares at Jetstorm, blinking its beady eyes.

Jetstorm peers right back, then blasts it. (What? It was looking at him funny.)

He then goes back looking around, trying to make sense of things, and finally settling on one phrase that he thinks sums his thoughts up: "What the frag is going on?"

He has to tell the other Sokka. And the other other Sokka, if he finds him.

It's the worst thing this Sokka has ever faced, ever, even including Azula. But it has to be done.

The problem is that he has to go back to the farm, where the older Sokka is. And Claire's ... not going to be very enthused by that idea.

"Claire? Can I ... ask you something?"
