Tanya's been in Rome for weeks, but Harth had apparently decided (not that anyone tells Tanya anything) that he needed bases outside Rome, and Isabelle had been sent to Chicago. Why Chicago, Tanya had no idea - but it wasn't her place to ask questions.
The city seems fairly intact (which after the state of some of the places they'd flown over, was surprising). There seems to have been an invasion at some point of something vaguely organic, probably plant based, but there are only remnants left, great tentacley root-ish sorts of things clinging to the remains of buildings. It looks like nothing so much as if some huge vine had sprouted in the middle of the city, devouring buildings and humans alike and then. . . died. Which is about what happened.
Still, Chicago seems safe enough now, and Tanya is wandering the streets, idly sucking on a lollipop and waiting for night to fall and her travelling companions to wake up. Damn, but this worlds sucks ass. It's so boring.
Only Tanya could be bored by a world over-run by monsters. But then? She's insane.
