Sam can't stop smiling.

His right hand is tangled firmly with Jess; he's driving with the left, carefully, and occasionally sneaking glances at her face as he does.

When they pull into the driveway, he stops the car behind Dianne's and turns to her, beaming.

"Welcome home, Mrs. Winchester."

He likes saying it, okay?

The Doctor's been around.

No, really.

She's been fishing, and cimbing, and exploring, and generally having a good old time in Apocalypse Land with only her TARDIS for company.

Really.

Only, every now and again, she gets this hankering for people. So what she did is, she had the TARDIS run a sweep for large groups of life forms, preferably human, and picked one out at random.

That would be why, juuust outside the Cooper farmhouse, a blue police box just materialised, and a rather attractive woman in a very long scarf just stepped out to have a look around.

She's quite fond of meeting new people.

Things that suck:
Best friends that ditch you you hang out with their "best-friend-and-totally-not-a-boyfriend-and-yes-he-likes-girlsshutupClaire"
Sex crazy and kinda gay immortals who obsess over slutty underwear.
Metropolis.
Today.

Things that don't suck:
WWII fighter pilots in tiny skirts who buy you burgers and offer to buy you beer and make funny faces behind peoples backs.
Best friends who will totally be at the nightclub when you get there, and you can commisserate with.
Not being on the farm bored out of your mind.

The sucking is still winning, which is why Claire's lagging behind Zinda and Goldy a bit, out of almost-sulk.

Running...

Running is a good thing in general. First, it gets you into shape. Second, it gives you a chance to think without too many interruptions. Third, nature. Nature, in general, is also good.

So Angela is running in shorts and a t-shirt with her hair pulled back in a ponytail, thinking about things and communing with nature. She's determined to stay healthy--there were so many things to do, after all.
