Charlie has a house. It's small; two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, living room, pantry, what might be a family room, but it's all hers. No government agency is going to come and take it away from her (not without a fight), and the furniture in aforementioned rooms were cleaned and put there at her own discretion. It's nice.

But the outside needs more work. There are weeds where there should be flowers, dead trees where there should be a tiny orchard, and an acre of land that's been neglected for somewhere around a year. She's out in the front yard today, digging up some of the weedlings and setting fire to others.

Sneaking up on the pyrokinetic would probably be a bad idea.

Lauren was tired. Getting out of Pittsburgh had been hell; thankfully, she wasn't anywhere near the Golden Triangle when the Shatter first happened, so she didn't have to deal with bridges, bottlenecks, statues, and scared people acting like jerks.

What she did have to deal with was much harder. Once she was certain she was ready to travel--because, let's face it, nobody would want to stay in the Steel City, not anymore--she loaded her Jeep, making sure she had gas cans along with enough health supplies to probably stock a small pharmacy (heavy on the migraine medication, of course). Considering that most everyone in her particular suburb was dead or a walking corpse, she stole what she needed from various places. She planned to pay it forward.

And then... she hit the road, following her visions and taking her time. Down I-279, to I-70, all the way to Topeka. 35 South. The Jeep was invaluable in getting through some of the worse areas--thank God for all-wheel drive and confident off-roading. Smaller roads lead to Smallville, of course.

--She finally reaches the Cooper Farm, as seen in her visions. Unsure of what to do, she just... honks.

It's late morning and Angela has finished with training for the day. She is tired and sweaty and needs a shower, but she's cooling down and calming down by doing tai chi.

The calming thing isn't working very well. Being here is starting to sink in, and she's really starting to miss her family. And it doesn't help that there's really nowhere that she can cry with no one to see her, there's no privacy at all, and it's really starting to get to her fairly bad.

So while her body moves in fluid lines, her face is full of tension, brow furrowed and eyes squinting in the sunlight.
