Kate was running around, more exercise. She had her bow and arrow with her, but was focusing on sword fighting practice today in the fields near the Cooper farm. She swung the silver blade around, going through a series of forms systematically.

Something the Easter Bunny said caught Steph’s interest and made her pay attention to something she’s never really looked at before: the sky.

Or, to be more precise, the stars.

In the Gotham she came from, she spent most of her nights out and about – but in the city of neon and steel, brilliant with manmade light, the stars weren’t visible even if she ever did look up. Which she didn’t; a vigilante who spends time stargazing is either Superman or dead, really.

So: it is a cool, clear Kansas night, there isn't not a cloud in the sky, and on the roof of Toph’s Bunker Steph is stretched out on her back, gazing up at the sky with wide, wide eyes.

"There's so many..."

There was hammering and nailing going on around the farm again. Remains of a HoHo's near Xander's post after he and Will had gone on munchie run in Smallville the other day. He was currently working on the little house for Pikachu, and there was a new development. His one eyed pirate days were over since the patch was gone, and there were two peepers looking around now. The new one was a little lighter in color than his normal, and definitely looked glassy. But he could still see with both again.

He's also taking furniture requests.

(It was loud.)

Loud and bright, the colours running into each other like paints, voices spilliing over like miniature waterfalls.

Loud and jagged, bits of glass scattered on the floor; she cut her feet and tried to stitch them up again, but Simon said "No" because he couldn't see.

He didn't understand why she couldn't stop crying, why she said goodbye, why she screamed and ran into the morning and the fresh scent of apples, her feet soaked in the dew from the grass.

(It was quiet.)

Valerian hates, hates, hates this. One moment he and Notched Ear had been hunting, and it was dark and damp and good, then there was a bang, and bright light that hurt his eyes, and. . . Notch was gone. His mind had been abruptly ripped from the hound's, and slammed back into his own body. He'd been so shocked and pained by that it had been several hours before he'd noticed that one of the reasons that his eyes hurt was the bright sunlight that shouldn't have been there.

It's been four days, and his head still hurts.

Valerian hadn't worried about where he was - just how to find out. He'd found a road - which was weirdly paved with some kind of solid black stuff that was pleasantly warm to his feet, and followed it.

It'll lead to some sort of settlement eventually, right?
