He slept and woke as dawn was creeping into the strange earthen house.

Now Will is sitting in his tree with some bread and watching the sunrise.

His back hurts again after the fight but sometimes you need trees.

(OOC: Its late but wanted to get this up.)

What a long, strange trip it's been.

The road trip crew has returned in one piece, more or less. Granted, the car looks a little worse for wear now-as does the group-but the car still finally appears again, several days after they left. Venom is the first one out of the car, peering around at the Kansas landscape. It's very...flat. "This is it, then?" he asks, looking back towards Will.

On the plus side, there seems to be a distinct lack of killer fairies...and after their last encounter, it would probably be agreed that that's a very good thing.

During the night, Will and Kate talk, and Sam searches for car parts and works to recover. There's a building on the waterfront in San Francisco, it used to be a fancy restaurant now its just a ruin.

At the moment, its a place to rest with smoke coming out of its chimney while inside Sam, Kate and Will take turns resting and recovering. Alcatraz is quiet across the water and Winter still lays over the city by the Bay.

(OOC: Open to any and all, who you get depends on timezone, so putting up now.)

When the Snow Queen came searching the city with an army of fairies, Sam and Will hid. Deep in a ruined skyscraper overlooking the frozen bay, occasionally checking the windows to see if the fairies were getting close. They passed close several times, even looked through the building once, but they didn't find them. Eventually, they rode back over the bay, back to Alcatraz.

Once the fairies had vanished out of sight, Sam and Will made their way down to the the edge of the bay, and started to trek over it, heading for Alcatraz.

They're about two thirds of the way there when Sam decides to break the silence.
"'S awfully cold out here."

Sam took great delight in frequently asking 'are we nearly there yet?' as they travelled. Then his attention was rather sharply drawn by all the snow and ice around San Francisco.

Then his attention was even more sharply drawn by the sudden storm that picked up, tossing them around. Their landing was ... rather rough. They hit a tree, among other things.

Twenty minutes later, Sam is shivering from the cold as he inspects the engine of the car.
"Why is everything so cold here?" It is, indeed, very cold. San Francisco appears to be not only utterly wrecked, but also entirely deserted and covered in snow (almost up to Sam's knees) and frost. After a moment's staring at the engine. "Guys, we're going to need a bunch of new parts for this thing."

Some time earlier, Sam told Kate and Will to meet him outside, by the flying car.

It's the right time now (well, roughly. He said sunset), but the car doesn't appear to have a Sam anywhere near it.

Yet, at least.

Sam isn't entirely sure who this car actually belongs to. He doesn't really care too much - He found it in Smallville, and nobody was there to stop him, so he stole it. It's being used for a good cause, so clearly it's okay.

Right now he's fiddling about with the back of it, converting the boot into an odd sort of engine shape, hands moving in the air to manipulate the metal. There are several dark blood stains on his sleeve, but he doesn't seem to be too bothered yet.

Besides, they're mostly hidden by all the grime. Working on cars is apparently very messy work.

Sam was, really, not as perturbed by suddenly being transported to another world as he probably should've been. While a new situation, he knew that he had to get to the nearest bar, or at least the nearest settlement that had doors.

A week after going from city to city and trying out doors, he's both a little depressed by the lack of success and even more depressed by the fact that everything seems to be wrecked, and the amount of alive people seems to be unnervingly small.

Then he started following the seagulls. The seagulls, obviously, would know what to do.

That's why there's somebody moving very fast towards the Cooper settlement, trailing golden light behind him. He stops when he reaches the front door, the little aura dissipating as he peers around. Maybe there will be people here. If not, he'll check out the big nearby city.
