Mai is not happy with her situation. Her leg is taking longer than she wants to heal (that is, it is taking any time at all). But this only exacerbates the real problem.

This Zheng guy is way too observant and way too oblivious at the same time. He misses important things, but somehow seems to be oddly able to read her. She's not used to people reading her, and it makes her a bit uncomfortable.

She mostly tries to ignore it, which is actually more of a hassle than she'd like. So for now she's making her awkward way down the stairs. She's tired of lying on the bed unmoving, she needs to do something.

The boy kept going, even not knowing where he'd found himself. Eventually, he talked his way onto a boat to the continent, and it just reached land.

He's now wandering the streets of Calais, looking for a source of money.

The healing did Michael some good, though he's not back up to anywhere near full health.

He hasn't got out of Illinois yet, moving slowly and leaning on a scavenged stick, but he's getting somewhere... he just doesn't know where.

A suave-looking black man strolls into the farm, looking around assessingly.

"Well, this is nice."

Dean has been back in Metropolis for a while.

He just hasn't gone to see the girls. The thought of the bitching they're gonna dish out for him taking off is a bit offputting -- and besides, he really needs to find more books with some reliable information for the farm ghost situation.

(Or at least, that's an excuse.)

He's in what's left of the Metropolis City Library at the moment, poking through old reference books with dirty hands and occasionally shoving a near-priceless tome roughly into his knapsack. Dean's respect for books, let him show you it.

In the kitchen of the Cooper farm, there is a circle of salt, and inside it, three books stacked one on top of the other.

There is also a really pissed off ghost, storming up and down outside the salt circle and kicking the occasional chair. Stupid Sokka, thwarting her attempts to thwart him!

The soapy water in the sink is rippling constantly.

Sokka the Smaller is diligently doing his very best to pretend that Suki doesn't exist and therefore he doesn't have to feel guilty about her.

It isn't working very well. He keeps seeing her at training or across the farm, even though he tries not to actively look for her. There's even been the odd occasion where he had to try Very Subtly to hide behind a convenient rock or tree or Claire or bunker.

It's not that he doesn't like Suki -- it's just so awkward and she keeps looking like she might cry or punch him and Claire's being all Claire-ish and and and and it's all so AWKWARD.

Today, his method of avoiding Suki is lounging behind the bunker and sharpening his boomerang.

Steph is sitting on the kitchen bench, cross-legged, writing busily in a notebook. She's lost in thought, occasionally looking up to stare into the distance, or to frown hard.

Tonight's dinner (leftovers stew) is bubbling on the stove beside her, and the usual array of crockery and cutlery is set out for everyone to help themselves.

Also on the Cooper farm, new arrival Dick is fixing his motorbike, frowning as he tries to beat it back into shape.

He hasn't seen hide nor hair of that Dean bloke and is getting sick of waiting. But there's not much else to do, with a ghostly sibling to look after and no idea where to start. The local library seems to have mysteriously lost all books on the supernatural and nobody here has seen Sparrow's body, that he's asked.

It's pretty annoying.
